It is vital that blogs are kept up to date and that progress is posted regularly. Screen grabs of the
creative process or other updates (evidence of students ‘creating the work’) must be included as
work is being completed.

Monday 6 th Dec-Thursday 6 th Jan


Carrying out research and planning.
To include:
 Mood boards
 Examples of other texts
 Analysis of magazine covers, contents pages and double page spreads
 Analysis of colour palettes, fonts, language register
 Decide on style of music magazine based on research carried out OR
 Analysis of film opening sequence (or other appropriate film sequence) including
conventions of opening sequences. Decide on genre of film and music.
 Decide on title of magazine / film
 Analysis of institution that would publish your magazine / film
 Audience profile
 Preparation of a 25 word pitch
Teachers to regularly check and leave comments on blogs as part of rough draft marking of R&P.

 Lessons to pitch idea to class and receive feedback
 Evaluate class feedback
 Test shots of work on magazine elements OR location shots from film
 Complete mock version of cover/ contents page/ double page spread (1 lesson)
 Write draft article OR
 Filming/editing
Friday 21st January = Research and Planning FINAL DEADLINE
R&P to be marked and marks submitted to NEF by 4 th Feb.

Mon 24 th Jan-Fri 11th Feb


 Compose cover/contents page/ double page spread (draft version) OR
 Complete 1st draft of film opening
Friday 11th Feb DRAFT DEADLINE - 3:10PM ENGLISH OFFICE
Work to be printed out and submitted to the English office. 1 st draft of film to be submitted on
DVD to English office.
1st draft marks and feedback to be returned to students w/b Monday 28 th February.

Monday 14th Feb-Fri 18th Feb


 Make logo and ident for magazine/film
 Conduct market research for magazine/film
 Peer assessment and evaluate feedback. Update blog with feedback.

Monday 28th Feb-Fri 11th Mar


 Update blogs with 1st draft teacher feedback.
 Make plan of action for necessary improvements
 Complete cover/contents page/ double page spread
 Print out as professionally as possible (photographic paper)
 Cut to size carefully and submit in plastic wallet with name clearly labelled
 Upload onto blog OR
 Finish filming/editing final copy of film opening
 Burn onto DVD along with your filmed prelim task with name(s) clearly labelled
 Upload onto blog via YouTube or Vimeo
FINAL DEADLINE FOR COURSEWORK (PRINT & FILM) = Friday 11 th March – 3.10pm English Office
All work to be printed out / burned onto DVD and submitted to the English office.
Pieces to be marked and marks submitted to NEF Friday 1 st April.

Monday 14th March – Friday 8th April.


 All students to ensure that blogs are up to date and presented in a suitable fashion e.g.
labelled correctly, link and label lists used, gadgets applied correctly
 All students to ensure that preliminary exercise is completed to correct standard and
posted after the c/w on blogs.
 Evaluation questions introduced and taught.
DRAFT EVALUATION TO BE COMPLETED AND POSTED ONTO BLOGS Friday 25 th March. Feedback
given by w/b Monday 28th March.

FINAL EVALUATION DEADLINE FRIDAY 8th April.

Evaluation to be marked and marks submitted to NEF by Friday 15 th April for moderation W/B
Tuesday 3rd May.
