1. Enclosed you will find a registration package for the 36th Annual United States Air Force Academy
National Invitational Drill Meet (NIDM) with all necessary attachments and forms. If you have any
questions regarding anything enclosed, how to fill it out, or any information that we have provided,
please feel free to contact me at c10donald.degarmo@usafa.edu or at NIDMStaff@gmail.com.
When sending emails please use the following format in the subject line “NIDM : School Name”.
2. A registration entry form for Inspection, Regulation, Exhibition, Special Exhibition, Individual
Exhibition, Color Guard, and Regulation Drill Down is enclosed. The registration form must be
returned by 5 March 2009. To avoid a penalty all entrance fees must be returned by 5 March 2009.
Late registration fees will be accepted until 17 March 2009 and will be assessed a 5% penalty.

b. You may mail the registration forms to the PO box listed above, contact TSgt Rodolfo Reyes
at (719) 333- 1058 for fax instructions, or email c10donald.degarmo@uasfa.edu in the form
of a Microsoft Word Document saved with the title in the following format: “NIDM:
SchoolName”.
c. If at any time your registration information changes, it is imperative that you notify us
ASAP. This is to insure that we can accommodate you or notify you of any potential
problems.
3. The purpose of the Commander’s Call on 09 April 2010 at 1900 is to pass out information about the
Academy and to answer questions about its facilities. It is imperative that you have a representative
there as we will answer any questions about the rules; however rules will not be changed at the
Commander’s Call except in very special circumstances.
4. We will determine the order of competition approximately two weeks before the meet. The schedule
will be sent out to all teams at this time, if you notice any conflicts please inform us as soon as
possible and we will try and accommodate you.
5. If your team chooses to withdraw from the drill meet, it must do so at least 10 business days before
the date of competition. If this rule is violated, your team’s money will not be refunded. NO
EXCEPTIONS. This includes all registration fees, and meal provisions.
6. We will be commemorating the 2010 USAFA NIDM by making a T-shirt with the Academy/Drill
meet logo available for you to remember the weekend and competition. They will be available by
pre order form for $10.00 and at the meet for $12.00 each.
7. New for this year will be a custom-made NIDM 10 Challenge Coin. The basic coin will be a distinct
NIDM design, with the competition year (“2010”) engraved onto the front. The basic coins will be
available by preorder for $6.00 and at the meet for $8.00. “Blank” coins (no year engraving) can be
purchased at the meet only for $5.00. These blank coins are great to engrave with “1st”, “2nd”,
“3rd”, etc. and to give to your Cadets as a reward. Please note, we do NOT do custom engraving at
the meet, but would be more than willing to refer you to local businesses that do.

10. The 2010 USAFA NIDM preparations are well underway. Many teams in the past have been unable
to come because of the late notice. We made efforts to curb that problem and hope that this year;
even more schools will be able to participate. We are looking forward to putting on a great
competition for your team and all of those attending from around the country. We look forward to
seeing you on 10 April 2010!

As stated in the SOP, meals will be provided in the cadet dining facility, Mitchell Hall. Mitchell
Hall requires that they be prepaid for guest meals. Teams will be provided breakfast on Saturday,
noon meal on Saturday, and pizza social Saturday evening.
In order to reduce overall costs for teams there will be a pizza social following the awards
ceremony. This should be very convenient as most teams are present for the ceremony. The
awards ceremony will be held in the field house following the drill down. Military attire is required
for competing teams. Following the awards ceremony, the pizza social will be held at the Field
House. Dress will be casual.
It is highly encouraged that everyone eats at Mitchell Hall to insure that all teams save as much
money and time as possible. Your escort will have the meal count for your team.
Once registration is closed all meals paid for at the dining facility cannot be refunded.

The back will be a color design representing the Air Force Academy and the Drill Meet. These will
also be available at the Drill Meet for $12.
ALL pre-ordered coins will be engraved with “2010.” Engraved “2010” coins can also be purchased
at the meet for $8.00. Coins without any engraving can also be purchased for $5 at the meet ONLY.

This is not a complete list of Hotels surrounding the academy, however each of these hotels were
contacted and know about the drill meet and are willing to offer group rates. While making
reservations if you mention you are attending the National Invitational Drill Meet at the Air Force
