The result of the first Aptitude test ‘Corporate Aptitude Test A’ conducted by Konfidence on
18 December 2010 as part of the aptitude training program for the 2011 batch is given below. The test
consisted of 60 questions to be answered in 60 minutes. Right answers were given +1 mark and wrong
answers were given -1/3
Recruiters keep a cut off mark to select students to the next round of the selection process. It is
commonly seen to be in the range of 30% to 50% of the maximum marks.
For this test, we have looked at two scenarios –
1. With a cut off of 33% or one third marks (i.e., 20 Marks) and
2. With a cut off of 40% (24 Marks)
Scenario 1: 33% Cut off (i.e., 20 Marks of 60). Students who cleared the 33% cut offs are
• If we lower the cut off to 18 marks (or 30%), 80 students would clear that mark
• Most of the students who made the 33% cut off missed the cut off when it was increased to 40%.
• If the cut off is kept at 50% (i.e., 30 marks) only two students clear that level.
• Note that only 12% of the participants cleared the 40% cut off level. In one of the other colleges
where we administered the same test, 30% of the participants cleared the 40% marks in this test.
This calls for an earnest and meticulous preparation from your side. It is important that all of you
keep practicing on your own.
