Home have their very own „humanitarian workshop‟, com-
plete with a long-arm quilting machine, several sewing ma-
chines and even a large rug loom. They make hundreds of
various items for donation to the Humanitarian Service
Room. With funding made available through the Humani-
tarian Service Room, the couple was able to create 40
beautiful quilts for a youth detention facility in their area
last year. An employee of the facility noted: “...for many
(recipients) it was the first time they had received some-
thing all their own. It also let them see that there are people
in the community who are aware of them and want them to
succeed. It is also an amazing example of giving to some-
one else for the sake of giving.”
