4. Games are divided into rounds & possessions. A possession is defined as all players
from one team getting the chance to shoot once. A round is defined as both teams
getting the chance to shoot once.

5. Children ages 5 and under are not allowed to participate in any form of beer pong, or
witness any form of beer pong at APT. 326. If caught, violators will be subject to any
one or combination of the following:

Shooting:
6. The shooting team is allowed to shoot the ball into the opposing team’s cups using 2
different methods.
a) The traditional “arc-shot” or “fastball.”
b) The bounce shot.

7. The shooter’s elbow may not cross the edge of his/her side of the table. The 1st
offense of this rule will result in a warning. If the shooter commits the violation at any
time through the remainder of the game it will result in loss of shot. The shooter may
also not make contact with ANY part of the table while shooting. Same penalty
applies.

8. Bounce shots may be bounced off 4 different surfaces

a) The beer pong table
b) The ceiling immediately above the table
c) The wall touching the table
d) Any opposing player

9. If bouncing off the table, the ball must pass the center line before coming in contact
with table.
a) If bounced ball off the beer pong table makes contact with table before
passing center line, then the shot is void and the shooter loses his shot.
b) Shots off the wall or ceiling can make contact on any part of surface.

10. All players on a team get a chance to shoot once each possession.
a) Players can shoot in any order, and can change order each possession
b) There shall only be 1 substitute shooter per game, per team, and this
substitute will count as that player’s shot. The substitute can fill in for the
entire possession (including double-sinks & rollbacks.)
c) After each shooter on shooting team has shot once then possession
changes hands. (This does not include rollbacks & double-sinks.)

11. Both shooters on a team ARE allowed to shoot at the same time.

12. If a shot knocks an opposing team’s cup off the table the shooter’s team
automatically loses the game.
Defense:
13. A defensive team may not make any contact with a shot ball until the ball has made
contact with a surface or cup, OR passed behind defensive team’s cups. (Any contact
with ball by defensive team made AFTER the aforementioned circumstances is
considered legal defense. Rule is also excluded if defensive player is used as a
“backboard” by the shooter.) Violation of this rule results in re-shot.

14. A spinning ball in a cup MAY be fingered or blown out by the defensive team before it
comes to rest. If the defensive player knocks over the cup he/she is attempting to save
then the team loses that cup, as well as 2 more cups of the shooter’s choosing, IF this
causes the team to lose ALL cups the team loses the game with no chance of
redemption.

15. Distractions ARE allowed if they do not violate any of the following:
a) The only body part allowed to cross the plane of the table during distractions is
the bosom. (Male or female, exposed or clothed.)
b) The cups of the defensive team must be visible to the shooter at ALL times.
c) Defensive players must stay on their side of the table at ALL times. (Including
rollbacks.)
d) Distractions may not include the mentioning of any player’s mother. (Bringing
up a player’s mother as a distraction will result in an automatic loss.)
e) No physical contact of any kind can be made as a distraction. (Including
projectiles)
f) Violating any of these rules repeatedly will result in being called a “ninny” for
the rest of the night (includes rule 15d.) The shooter also gets a re-shot if a
distraction violates any 1 of these rules.
g) Any distractions violating any of these rules by spectators will also result in a
re-shot.
Rollbacks:
16. If a shooter’s shot rolls back to his/her side of the center line (on or off the table)
and the player recovers the ball they get a chance for a rollback shot. The player must shoot
the rollback shot behind the back. A rollback from a rollback shot must be shot with the
shooter’s eyes closed AND behind the back.
Scoring:
17. The shooter’s goal is to shoot the ball into the opposition’s cups. The first team to
sink
all their opponent’s cups wins. Scoring is as follows:
a) A traditional “arc-shot” or “fastball” counts as the 1 sunken cup.
b) A bounce shot off the table counts as the 1 sunken cup AND 1 additional cup of
the shooter’s choosing.
c) “” off the wall counts as the 1 sunken cup AND 2 add. cups of the shooter’s
choosing.
d) “” off the ceiling counts as the 1 sunken cup AND 3 add. cups of the shooter’s
choosing.
e) A shot off an opposing player (same as 17b.)
f) A “miracle” shot (any shot landing and staying on top of a cup) results in the
shooter’s team winning the game without a chance of redemption.

18. If both shooters on shooting team sink their shots then they get both balls back for
a new full possession and is known as a double-sink. (Rule does not apply in 1 vs. 1
play.)

19. “The Dipshit Rule”: If the shooting team sinks a cup and the opposing team of
dipshits forget to
clear the cup from the table and the shooting team’s second shooter sinks his/her
shot
into the same cup then the opposing dipshit team automatically loses the game
with no chance
of redemption.
a) “The Dipshit rule” also refers to when a dipshit accidentally knocks over
his/her team’s own cup. In this case the knocked over cup counts against that
team and the team must also remove 2 more cups. If this causes the team to
run out of cups then that team loses with no chance for redemption.
b) Q: What is blue and yellow and sits at the bottom of the pool? A: A baby with
slashed floaties.

20. After the shooting team sinks all of opposing team’s cups, the opposing team’s
players each
get 1 shot at redemption. (Rollbacks do not apply during redemption.)During
redemption, each shooter gets to shoot until he/she misses. If all cups are sunk
during
redemption then the game moves to overtime.
Re-racks:
21. Each team has 2 re-racks per game that can be used at ANY TIME during their
possession.
The team may re-rack into any shape they desire as long as it stays
within the boundaries of the triangle outline.
Overtime:
22. Overtime consists of a 1 cup vs. 1 cup SUDDEN DEATH playoff. The first team to
sink a
shot wins with no chance of redemption by the opposing team. The first possession
in
OT goes to the superior team
(the team that did not have to sink the redemption shot(s) to
force OT.) The cup will be place in the OT circle inside the triangle outline on the
table.
If no team has sunk a shot after 4 rounds then both cups will be moved 6 inches
closer
to the center of the table. This will continue every 4 rounds until both cups are in
the
center circle of the table. Rollbacks DO apply during OT. Substitutes are not
allowed for
any shooter in OT.
To the Victor Go the Spoils:
23. When a team has a cup sunk the team must consume the contents of that cup.
24. The winning team has full discrepancy with the remaining cups.
