Merit my Ass

The issue about people fighting their own battles also has to be seen in
context. When a statement like that is made, it is not meant to be taken in
the context when a person is humiliated, because he belongs to a particular
social group. Human history is all about groups getting subjugated and
fighting back. Finally whether you like it or not, the guy comitting suicide is
not about him alone. The guy took his life, because the inner most escence
with which he measured himself as a human being was pounced upon. May
be the guy was too proud. On a moral front I am not sure who is more
upright. Him who took this all so seriously, or us. Its like a husband who
couldnt prevent his wife from being raped and kills himself vs a husband who
just acts it really does not matter.
I remember this guy Mr Indresan, the director of IIT Madras coming on
TV and saying that IITs would lose their standard because of reservation
(speaking on OBC reservation) (dont see any stellar publications from the
guy on google scholar search
http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0,22&q=pv+indiresan
,most of you guys have accomplished more than him anyway...). Do you
realise from what standpoint the guy even said that. The institute may have
given us the diploma of graduation, but this Indresan still does not consider
you or me to be a part and parcel of that institution. Well as far as I go, I
just use that IIT diploma to get me in to places and on a personal note, I
just look it as something to wipe I ass with. But I definetly don’t see you
guys look at this in a similar light ( I remember seeing people putting up
pics of revisiting that institute blah blah blah. Its like they spit on you and
you still lick their spit). Get a reality check guys, no matter how successful
you are in your professional life, the leech of an institution still wants to keep
you out. We are still untouchables for them.
Concerning the argument about helping the poor. Reservations are not
about removing poverty. Another misinformation promoted by uppercastre
intellectuals. It is about share of communities in the resources of the country.
Otherwise how would you define slavery. Isnt a preliminary requirement
about one community plainly dominating everything.
Also why do uppercastes complain. I mean why would people want their
kids to marry in to rich households, so that the offsprings have better op-
purtunities. Well, if your offspring can get an IIT seat, thats quite valuable,

just marry an sc/st guy, I mean marriages are anyway arranged in india. Oh
but then there is an issue. Face it man ’they’ still look at us as untouchables,
only the rules of the game have changed. Please give what I am saying a
little thought...
