PRESS STATEMBNT

October'29,2009 Los Angeles,CA

According to Richard L. Charnleyand Bradley P. Boyer both of RopersMajeski

Kohn & Bentley:

On Tuesday,Dr. Arnold Klein subrnitteda creditor'sclairnto the Estateof Michael

Jackson. This claim was for medicalbills that had beensubrnittedto Mr. Jackson's
businessoffice, but were unpaid due to Michael Jackson'sdeath. The bills were
never contestedand were for valid rnedical treatment. The subrnissionis a normal
part of the probateprocess.

It is unfair to oommenton billings suchas thesein a vacuum. For example, some

rnediaoutletshave beencritical of a weekendchargefor rnedicalservices.
However, the chargewas for an unscheduledrnedical treatrnent. In order to
provide this treatrnent,Dr. Klein neededto rent a helicopterin order to be flown in
from out of town to provide the serviceswithin the requiredtirne frarne, had his
professionalstaff transportedvia car service, and had to pay thern a premiurn for
working over the weekend. If anything, thesechargesdemonstrateDr. Klein's
dedicationto his patients. It shouldalso be notedthat Dr. I{ein lost rnoneyfor the
weekendtreatment.

Dr. I(lein spenta substantialamountof effort to assistMichael Jacksonin

achievinghis fabulousappearance. As anyonecan seefrom viewing "This Is It,"
Michael Jacksonlooked great, and this was due, in part, to Dr. I(lein's skill, hard
work and dedication.

Dr. I(ein is a world-renowned cosmetic delmatologist who practicesin Beverly

Hills. Dr. I(lein will vigorouslyprotecthis reputationand will take any statements
made about him or his practicevery seriously.

Dr. I(lein had determinedthat a poftion of any money receivedfi'om the Estateof
Michael Jacksonfor thesebills will be donatedto a charity which provides
assistance to inner city children with HIV. Dr. I{ein hasa long history of
philanthropyand plans to continuein this regard.
