FAQs/Troubleshooting

The theme is not displaying correctly e.g no styling, blank.

Check that all files have a permission of 644/666 and folders(both the main onenewspremium
folder and subfolders) have a permission of 755/777. See how to change directory
permissions.

Error: Cache directory is not writable.

Ensure that the cache directory (wp-content/themes/onenewspremium/includes/cache)
permission is set to 755/777. See how to change directory permissions.

Error: A feed is displaying blank in the widget or cannot be found.

While SimplePie is pretty robust, there are times when some feeds will choke it. The solution is
to use FeedBuner or Yahoo Pipes to burn the feed first and use their feed link instead.

How can I improve the performance?

Besides enabling feeds cache and increasing the cache duration in the theme options, you can
also install WP-Cache or WP Super Cache for even faster performance.

Any other recommended plugins?

While these plugins are not required, they are quite useful for this theme.
- RSS Includes Pages Plugin - for pinging your pages
- Widgets Profiles - for backing up your widgets configuration

The feed items is displaying in random order, e.g not sorted by order
Try disabling the “enable_order_by_date” option. Open simple_wordpress_2.php file and edit
line 911
$feed->enable_order_by_date($enable_order_by_date);

change to
$feed->enable_order_by_date(false);

I have many pages and the WP-Admin>Widgets page is getting too long to work on.
How?
Try the widgets page hack.
