    The client, a 2-year old, was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia due to predisposing factors such as family history and recurrent radiation exposure. The leukemia is a clonal disorder caused by malignant transformation of stem cells in the bone marrow, resulting in abnormal hematopoiesis. This leads to increased bleeding tendencies, decreased platelet and red blood cell counts, and infiltration of immature white blood cells in organs. Without treatment, this would likely result in multi-organ dysfunction and death.
