OBJECTIVE
The Spanish Translation Validation Committee (TVC) is tasked with verifying the authenticity of the
terminology and providing feedback to PMI’s translation vendor. The comments and suggestions made by
the committee will be reviewed by the selected translation vendor and used to improve the documents.
The committee is not being asked to comment on the veracity of the English-language content, only the
accuracy of the translation

As a delta translation, PMI will be using the approved text from 3rd Edition and only translating those
areas of content that have changed between the 3rd and 4th Edition. The TVC team will validate the
quality of the translations on those areas that have changed. Once PMI receives the Spanish Translation
Committee Lead’s feedback on the glossary, we will proceed with having the translation vendor translate
the rest of the PMBOK Guide in order to meet the December 31 draft posting date.

DOCUMENT: Project Charter VERSION: .02

The Spanish Translation Committee Lead must be available to PMI during the translation process to
answer any questions that may arise. As the sections of the 4th Edition are translated, PMI will ask the
TVCs to review and comment. No changes will be made and comments will not be addressed until after
the draft version is posted.

Exact timelines are still being created, at Charter time, and will be sent to the TVCs when they are ready.
The TVCs will need to be ready to start reviewing sometime in November (the version being posted in
December is a non-reviewed translation. The TVC’s comments will be incorporated into the final, printed
version of the PMBOK® Guide — Fourth Edition). As of Charter time, the deadline for the printed version
of the translated PMBOK® Guide — Fourth Edition is sometime in Q2 2009.
