Paper: Brights: Rich Razzleberry
 Paper Piercing Kit

1. Firstly, you’ll want to

punch out 4 flowers from
the regular cardstock and
then you’ll punch out 4
flowers from the DSP
paper.

2. Take your Aqua Painter or water

spritzer to each side of the
flowers. You don’t want to make
your flowers super wet, but wet
enough to be able to crumple
without much resistance. I apply
water to the flowers because it is
easier to crumple in your hand,
plus the flower retains it shape
better when it dries.

3. Crumple each flower in your

hand, making certain to get it as
tight as possible. Don’t worry
about creases of folds, they just
add to the individuality of each
flower.

4. When all pieces are crumbled,

spread the flower apart. Be
careful not to rip your paper.

5. Now, you want to alternate

each colour of flower punched
paper. I tend to start with the
base of a solid colour, which in
turn, means that your final
flower layer will be a patterned
piece.

6. When placing your flower layers, place each layer a bit off from the previous. This will
give your final flower a very pretty look.
7. Make certain that all of the layers are a centered to each other as you can

8. Take your paper piercing kit and

pierce the middle of the stack of
layers. This will be a little
tough because you are going
through 8 layers of moist
paper.Once you have it pierced
all the ways though, don’t
remove your paper piercer until
you have a firm grasp on the
paper. You don’t want it to fall
apart.

9. Take a brad and insert the brad

into the hole, closing the back
of the brad tightly.

Now, you are going to form the shape of your flower

10. Take the top layer of the flower

and pinch it together in your
fingers so that the edges of the
flower are pointing towards the
ceiling.

11. Repeat step 11 for all of the layers

of the flower.

Spreading the flower apart

12. I tend to start this from the

middle of the flower. Place
your thumb and your index
finger and gentle spread the
layers apart. Don’t go to
aggressively on this; I find
that by doing it little by little,
you can control the shape of
your flower better.

13. Keep doing this with all of the layers until you reach the shape that you desire.

14. For the most interior layer of the

flower, I leave the shaping of this
until the end- the middle of the
flower is they center of attention;
therefore, I wait to see what the
rest of the flower looks like
before I spread open the middle.
