Basic guidelines about the
presentation:
 
1.If we are speaking to a small group, we
should try to accomplish eye contact with
each person for a few seconds throughout
the presentation

2.we should look into the materials or notes,


every 5-10 seconds, to look into the
audience.

3.we  should speak a little bit louder and
slower

4.vary the volume and modulate our


speech.

5.should stand with our feet at shoulder-


length apart

6.should keep our hand relatively still.


 
INTRODUCTION TO A PRESENTATION

           OUR INTRODUCTION SHOULD AROUSE THE AUDIANCE'S


INTEREST IN OUR TOPIC AND LEAD TOWARDS WHAT WE ARE GOING
TO TALK ABOUT.

The main components of an effective introduction are as follows:

 attention-getters
 story or personnel experience
 questions
 startling statements
 humor
 reference to audience
 reference to the occasion

                   
                 
Thesis statement and preview : The thesis statement and preview are
crucial to communicate yr topic &purpose to the audience. Be sure to clearly
state the topic of your presentation to capture the attention of the audience,
without keeping them suspense for long.

Audience adaptation: It is natural that, as a speaker, u would like to


achieve yr desired outcome, but not at the  cost of ignoring yr audience.

Credibility statement: If the audience perceived u as qualified speaker,


there is more possibility that u will be listened to attentively.

Preview: Previewing your material is of the utmost importance b/z that


will prepare yr audience for whatever u are going to say during the rest of
year speech.
 
PATTERNS OF PRESENTATION
 
 1.Chronological pattern: A chronological pattern is one which
the points are arranged in the way in which they occurred are
observed.

  2.Spatial pattern: A spatial pattern organizes material


according to how it is out together or where it is located physically.

   3.Topical/categorical pattern: It is the most commonly


followed pattern. Here u divide the topic into some logical themes
or categories.

4.Cause and effect pattern: U may like to discuss the causes of
conflict escalation in the organizational teams and the resultant
effects in yr presentation.

   5.Problem and solution pattern: It divides information into two


main sections, one that describes a problem &another that describes
a solution.

   6.Climatic pattern: Under this, items are arranged from least


important to most important
