JDRADM
Description and Purpose:
Joint Dual-Role Air Dominance Missile (JDRADM)
is the next-generation air-to-air/air-to-ground
missile capable of defeating current and evolving
air and ground threats with enhanced lethality,
propulsion and agility.

Potential Customer:
The U.S. Department of Defense

General Characteristics:
The JDRADM mission is to neutralize sixth-generation aircraft and conduct operations
against enemy Air Defense Systems. Key JDRADM characteristics are: internal
carriage, dual-role, improved kinematics/agility, improved lethality and affordability.

Background:
Boeing was awarded a five-month JDRADM study contract in September 2006. Boeing
also won the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) JDRADM Multi-Role Responsive
Ordnance Kill Mechanism (MR ROKM) warhead technology thrust program in 2006. In
May 2007, Boeing was selected to continue development of other JDRADM technologies
and was awarded a $4.2 million Dual Role Air Dominance Missile–Technology (DRADM-
T) contract from AFRL to refine the configuration of the propulsion and control systems.
Boeing then received a $5.2 million contract from AFRL in May 2008 to demonstrate the
effectiveness of Guidance Integrated Fuzing (GIF) developed under the Seeker
Integrated Target Endgame Sensor (SITES) program. Boeing has also completed a
Quint Networking Technology (QNT) contract with DARPA to design, develop, evaluate
and demonstrate robust affordable data-link technologies.
