MINIMALISM
One can say that it is a architectural movement which evolved in the course of the history to break the monotony of the preceding style of architecture.
However it an abstract concept and cannot be generalised as it varies from every person's perspective. But collectively it may be generalised as architecture of si lence, of subtle expressions that seeks simple solutions in terms of design elements and values.
Minimalism has got much to do with the maxim "Less is more" and that the spaces are adapted to an idea of life intended to be simpler, allowing fascination to be shown in the linearity of walls, smooth texture of floor, in a reserved space, in the whole as a structural element of this architecture that seeks its essence.
It is therefore a virtue that exalts formality, imagination and an appetite for creating new sensations with minimum intervention. Another angle of minimal ism is that "Form follows form".
Characteristics ofminimalism:
Extreme simplicity Subject is r'pJOlo~!!TT~~
Nagpur: .
Building form should be simple yet not starkly different from
the buildings all around it. .
Use of natural textures in interiors and facade treatment IS
preferred. .
The design is functional, in context with the surroundings and designed such that the end product will be minimal but the design process remains as elaborate as ever.
Inte rpretation:
Minimalist architecture is a polemical term which could be interpreted differently as per the user as well as the architect. Broadly defined, minimalism in architecture deals with adhering to the essentials in all aspects whilst satisfying its functional aesthetic, structural and environmental requirements.
A minimal design is site specific and uncluttered.
Economical context:
It is the centre for trading and commerce given the relatively modest size of their respective communities in the city, entrepreneurs and traders operating in Nagpur appear to have very strong informal networks. Taking into account the need for a more formalised professional network, a group of entrepreneurs have set up the Nagpur's chapter

Volumetric analysis and inferences
A healthy social life is found only when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds the reflection and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living.
The general temperament of buildings in Nagpur is over decorative. There are varied styles of architecture in Nagpur, hence there is a need to unite everything in the least possible decorative mariner, so that it does not represent any particular style but represents Nagpur overall. This calls for a minimalistic approach adhering to Indian context. A civic centre caters to the public requirements of education entertainment and commercial
use ..
Option 2 Permissible Height =32m Area on each floor=6226.75sq.mt
climate of place calls for a lot of semi open spaces which are permanently shaded during daytime to prevent heat gain but simultaneously be limited by day light
The response of civic centre to the heritage structure is important from the point of view of cultural heritage preservation, since they are an iconic landmark to the place
Now after going through every element and aspect regarding the civic centre, minimalism, city and site analysis, a extrapolated inference has been justified
