While I was conducting my PPT, I
gradually realized that it is a hard work for
me to represent all of my PPT by English.
So, during my represent, I may speak in
Chinese some times. Please allow me to
have this privilege.
My topic is Funny English. I want to
introduce some pieces of spoken English
which are as American as apple pie. I wish
all of you can enjoy in my PPT. OK, let’s
start.

 Dictionary:
v. (informal) to go or leave somewhere

 In fact, the word has another

meaning, that is, to make someone


or something move a short distance

 Some useful sentences to describe a

 AmE used to say that you hope your good
luck so far will not change.

of American.
Cross your fingers
 Used to say that you hope
something will happen in
the way you want.

Pass the hat round/around
 (informal) to collect money from a number
of people, for example to buy a present for
somebody.
 In America, there is a kinds of party called

”pass the hat” , the cost of the party is


collected from all of the attendees.

people.
English is my Achilles heel.
