TRADE ORDERING INFORMATION y
HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER:
You may place orders by: Phone: (510) 208-1708 • Fax: (510) 208-1701 • E-mail: sales@akpress.org
We are available to take orders between 9:30am–6:00pm EST, Monday–Friday, but (like everyone else!) we do have email,
an answering machine, and fax that work 24/7. In most cases we are able to ship out trade orders by the next business day.
When placing an order, please list title, author, and retail price (ISBN is optional, but is not really necessary unless you want
to be positive you get a certain edition). Please specify your shipping instructions, purchase order number if needed, full
billing and shipping addresses, and telephone number.
NEW ACCOUNTS:
New trade customers must pre-pay their first order. Upon receipt of a credit application and references, credit may be extended
on future orders. Credit terms are 30 days, with initial credit equal to the amount of the first order.
SHIPPING:
Within the US, we ship by UPS unless instructed otherwise. If you choose shipment by USPS, you must either pay for in-
surance or accept the risk of damage. Please supply street address when ordering. For rush orders, specify date needed and
method of shipment preferred.
BACKORDERS:
Unavailable titles are all backordered for up to 90 days, unless you indicate otherwise. Please let us know if you would like
backorders shipped as the books are received or consolidated with other items.
RETURNS:
No authorization is necessary for returns made up to one year from original invoice date. Returns older than one year must have
written permission, which will be granted at our discretion. All returns must be in saleable condition. Damaged and un-resale-
able books (and returns damaged en route to us) will NOT be credited. Returns are credited in full with invoice information, and
only 50% without. It is in your interest to dig up your invoice number and pack the books carefully. Credit is applied to your
account, and must be used within one year. We do not give cash refunds. Please ensure that the books you want to return were
supplied by us. The shipping address for all returns is: AK Press, Attn: Returns; 674-A 23rd Street; Oakland, CA 94612.
CLAIMS
In case of damage or other fulfillment error, we accept immediate returns. Claims for shortages or mis-shipments must be made
within 30 days of invoice date. Please provide invoice details on all claims. Credit will be issued, or damaged items replaced,
immediately upon notification. Please email orders@akpress.org or call (510) 208-1700.
MAGAZINES
Magazines/periodicals/journals are all available at a discount of 30%. See our website for the latest magazine titles and issues.
Standing orders are available on ALL titles. Front cover returns are required on all titles and are accepted for up to one year.
Please check with us for periodicity of each title.
FOREIGN ACCOUNTS
Payment should be made in US funds drawn on US bank. Any charges for foreign checks will be billed back to you. Unless
you specify preferred shipping method, all shipments are sent by cheapest available. Please specify!
