He was exiled in Tel-Abib in Babylon, along with 3,000 other Jews. In July BCE, He proclaimed himself as prophet.

For the next 5 years he proclaimed of Jerusalems Destruction and its temple. Jeremiah, a contemporary of Ezekiel living in Jerusalem witnessed the Destruction of Jerusalem.

When he was 50 yrs old, he began seeing visions of a New Temple. He served 22 years until. He was last seen with God on April 570 BCE His time of death has not been recorded. Some say his tomb is in Keffill, Baghdad

He lived on the bank of the Chebar River in Tel-Abib with his wife. Some exiled Jews came to visit them for prophetic insights. They had no children.
