Children should have every day: ..sunscreen applied before arriving at Kids Inc. ..lunch with a frozen gel pack ..water bottle with name ..backpack with name ..swimsuit and towel with name ..change of clothes ..book to read ..change of shoes or water shoes All children must be at camp by 9:00 AM on field trip days. Field trips leave Kids Inc by 9:10.

Science Week with the Ks & 1st graders

Welcome Mad Scientists! Get ready for a whirlwind of science fun! We will be covering everything from Geology, where we will tumble rocks and make a volcano explode, to Chemistry, where we will explore the art of baking rainbow cupcakes. We will also study the wild world of Weather, making clouds out of cotton balls, wind gauges that spin and a model tornado. On Wednesday we will tour the fabulous UW Greenhouses to learn more about what botanist do. On Thursday we will continue the botany theme and watch how food dye moves through the veins of celery sticks! We will cap the day by performing an archaeological dig in the sandbox and then assembling a model T-Rex. On Friday, we will take on the Pacific Science Center to expand our scientific query into outer space, as well as check out the butterflies, reptiles and perhaps a naked mole rat or two! We look forward to a week of fun and adventure with the budding scientists of Kids Inc. Steve and Alyssa

Techno Science with the (2nd -5th Grades)

Welcome to Techno Science Week at Kids Inc. Your counselors are Jay and Amira and they are super excited for this one of a kind week. Starting off by making an old fashioned Flip Book to learn the basics of Animation, then get out the digital cameras and snap those award winning photos along with the video camera to film a public service announcement! Then we will break from all the technology and play at Cowen Park. On Wednesday we will break into groups to work on animation, write in our blog post photos and scan drawings with a special surprise. Thursday we will take a trip to the Pacific Science Center and explore everything there is to explore. Friday we will finish up our PSA, upload our photos and finish our blog. Lets end Techno Week with a heart pounding game of Capture the Flag!. Jay and Amira

Science Week with the 1st & 2nd Grades

Grab your lab coats because its Science Week! Well check out the flora and fauna at Meridian Park on Monday. Tuesday we will learn that E=MCFUN with fossils, paper airplanes and planting in the Kids Inc. gardens. On Wednesday we will make an expedition to the Science Center and then wrap up our week with rocks, rockets and volcanoes. Get ready to blast off with science! Lindsay and Karen

Beach Day/Park Day/Everyday

Please note the schedule above for Beach and Park day. Dont forget to apply that sunscreen before your child gets here to Kids Inc. everyday, and especially on all beach/park days, the kids will be leaving by 9:10 and returning by 3:00 pm. Washington Administrative Code insists that either all children have freezer packs in their lunch or we must carry portable coolers on our fieldtrips. We are asking for your support. Please make sure that your child has a freezer pack in their lunch. A frozen water bottle works great. Thanks for your help.
