Name of Guide: Certified Servers Guide Revision A0 Modification Date March 2010 Description The main changes from NICE Perform Release 3.2 Certified Servers Guide (CSG) are as follows:
CSG 3.2/3.5 contains the updated server and workstation requirements for NICE Perform Release 3.2 and NICE Perform Release 3.5 (see page 15). Partitioning Requirements were revised and also added to the Excel version of the CSG 3.2/3.5 (see the relevant Servers Partitioning Requirements on page 15). Text Analysis Server specifications were added (see page 83). Windows 7 support for Workstations was added to the CSG 3.2/3.5 (see page 118). OS/SQL Service Packs information is now part of the CSG 3.2/3.5. .NET 3.5 SP1 is now a prerequisite for all servers and workstations. Windows 2008 R2 and SQL 2008 R2 were added to the CSG 3.2/3.5 in order to indicate they are not yet supported and to avoid confusion. Active VoIP Logger support for Windows 2008 (32-bit) is now NICE Approval due to 3rd party software components which are not supported with Windows 2008 (32-bit). Windows 2000 is no longer indicated as a supported OS for Workstations in CSG 3.2/3.5 as NICE Perform Release 3.5 does not support Windows 2000 Workstations. NMS is no longer detailed in the CSG 3.2/3.5. Validated Server Types are no longer listed in the CSG.

The partitioning requirements for the virtualized NICE Perform components are identical to those detailed in the Certified Servers Guide for their physical counterparts.
NOTE: Only the partitioning size is relevant, and not the HDD count.
When 100 Mbps NICs are used, it is essential to calculate the bandwidth requirements and present them to the customer. See Design Considerations for an explanation on how to calculate bandwidth requirements. An explanation regarding the different Usage Models can be found in the Design Considerations.

(*) SQL Server edition (Standard vs. Enterprise) is defined by the Capacity Planner. For Deployment Consideration, refer to the Design Consideration Guide. For additional upgrade considerations, refer to the Upgrade policy. In deployments consisting of a Disaster Recovery Solution with SQL Mirroring, a Database Server with SQL Server 64-bit Enterprise Edition is required. Only one such SQL Server license needs to be procured if the DR switchover is no longer than 30 days. SQL Servers (32-bit) can only be deployed on top of operating systems with a (32-bit) architecture. SQL Servers (64-bit) can only be deployed on top of operating systems with a (64-bit) architecture. All certified servers support a (64-bit) Windows Server operating system no additional hardware is needed to support the above. Deploying more than 32 GB RAM requires an Enterprise Edition Operating System. For SQL servers with 16GB RAM and above, the page file should be configured as the following:

SQL Data drive should be configured as System Managed. All other partitions should be configured as None (i.e. No paging file). For SQL Server with up to 16 GB, the page file should be 1.5 times the physical RAM memory, and configured on the SQL Data partition.

VoIP environment only. NICE Perform 3.5 UP 9 and up. Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 32-bit. Dialogic HMP Release 3.0 SU279 and up.
Additional Notes

A mixture of E1 and T1 boards on the same Telephony Services Server is not supported. Dialogic Boards cannot be used in an SMB deployment. The Telephony Services Server for NICE Perform Release 3.2 supports Dialogic Driver SR 6.0 Service Update 235 starting NICE Perform Release 3.2.11. The Telephony Services Server for NICE Perform Release 3.5 supports Dialogic Driver SR 6.0 Service Update 235 starting NICE Perform Release 3.5.4. The Telephony Services Server supports only the DIVA Driver 8.5. The Telephony Services Server supports only the HMP 3.0 Service Update 262 and up. Virtual machine is not supported beside HMP IP, as described above in Dialogic HMP IP for VoIP. JCT boards support Windows 2008 Release 1 (32-bit), Windows 2008 Release 1 (64-bit) (using WOW) and Windows 2008 Release 2. This requires using Dialogic driver SR6.0 with service update 235 and starting from NICE Perform Release 3.2 Update Pack 12 and NICE Perform Release 3.5 Update Pack 6.
The Telephony Services Server supports Windows 2008 (32-bit) and Windows 2008 Release 2 (64-bit) using Dialogic HMP Release 3.0 with Service Update 298, starting from NICE Perform Release 3.5 Update Pack 14. The Telephony Services Server supports PAE (in Windows 2003) with VoIP Integrations only (SIP & H323), Not supported for DNI boards. If the system requires PAE (more than 4 GB memory), it is recommended to install the latest HMP versions that support 64-bit
