Some policies initiated in 1997 includes: Initiate an extensive campaign against girls trafficking Promulgate laws to end discrimination against women Strengthen co-operation with NGOs and INGOs to implement programs for controlling trafficking Initiate co-operation with other countries at bi-lateral and multi- lateral levels to control girl trafficking and AIDS. held in Cairo has also emphasized women empowerment and other different core agendas such as:

Beijing Conference held on September 1995 in Beijing has also following areas regarding women empowerment:

Education opens the girls eye.. In fact, her eyes are opened to several aspects:

the girl as an individual education leads to greater self-esteem and self-confidence

The availability of rural labour is under considerable stress in many parts of the developing world. In the context of Nepal, 85.2% of women are involved in agriculture. In rural setting, large amount of time and energy is spend in: fetching water and firewood and preparing food clearing and tilling land, cultivating crops, planting trees rearing livestock

improve the efficiency of performing various farming and households activities such as:
harvesting roof water for domestic purposes use of fuel efficient stoves for cooking ensure womens access to water and other essential resources growing crops requiring less labour instead of traditional crops

Develop information and education programs to encourage


key family members to assist women with household and other chores.
