onday: 30 minutes of spelling instruction
Spelling Pattern Pre-test given on Fridays (Students who score 90% or better receive the challenge list fortheir weekly list post-test (same pattern). All students will have 10 new pattern words on their test Friday.Total words that teacher must have prepared: 30
10 words for the pre and posttest
10 words for the regular study list
10 words for the challenge list
30 minutes spelling skill instruction for new spelling pattern
Teacher sends a letter in the Communication folder describing weekly spelling pattern sent home (sampleincluded at bottom of document)
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 30 minutes of spelling lessons/activities
These can be any kind of whole group, small group, partner work, or other types of lesson.
Friday: 20 minutes of spelling assessment
Students take the weekly spelling test containing their 10 word list that they studied for the week and 10words following the weekly pattern that were given on the pretest.
Students take their pretest for the new pattern.
