Prevention - Following a Healthy Eating Pattern - Reducing Salt and Sodium in Your Diet - Limit fatty foods - Maintaining a Healthy Weight - Exercise Regularly - Limiting Alcohol Intake - Avoid Smoking Nursing Management - Regular check for Vital signs - Patient should be advised to avoid stress and tension. - Restrict sodium intake - Fatty food and excessive carbohydrate that can increase weight and cholesterol should be avoided. - Coffee, tea, cola nuts, alcohol should be avoided or minimized. - Assist patient with physical care if patient is very weak. - Constipation should be avoided because it makes the patient strain at defecation thereby further elevating the blood pressure. Food rich in fiber should be given to prevent constipation.
