“Nn”
Nn”
The activities in this book cover a few simple “n” words, all of which will be found in the Dolch 220 Word Lists. There are five
sections to this very simple workbook.
The first is to say the word, trace it and practice writing it on the lines, and then do the same for the simple sentences.
The second section is to say the name of the picture and try to write the word on the lines.
The third section is a word-quest, a search where your child goes through magazines, and books within the home or classroom
and looks for words or pictures beginning with the “n” sound, and then cuts out or draws the pictures in the blank boxes
provided, and tries tow rite the word next to the drawing/pasted picture. The child may need some help but this can be a fun
learning experience. Print as many sheets of paper as may be required.
The fourth section is to make a word listing of simple words he or she recognizes that begin with the “n” sound, and to try to write
them on the lines provided at the back of this book. Again some assistance may be required but is still a fun learning
experience. Print as many sheets of this lined paper as may be required.
The fifth section is for the child to study the pictures and to say the word for every picture. If the picture begins with the “n”
sound he or she draws a circle around the picture.
This workbook differs slightly in format to Tracing Letters ‘A’ through ‘E’. While finalising the books I managed to corrupt my main
template files on those letters, with the correct sized lines and fonts and so ran off to search for help from Cherry Carl, USA, in
order to complete this series. She is always an inspiration and a great mentor to many.
This activity book is provided as a fun educational unit and ideally should be used in conjunction with other methods of tutoring
your child.
Have fun ☺

These units have been compiled together with and by my daughters Savannah and Clarissa, who have had enormous fun doing “dictionary work” and then sourcing
appropriate graphics. A variety of clipart resources have been used, most notably Microsoft Clipart Collections, Barry’s Clip Art, FG-A, Wikipedia, Wiki-Know,
www.keltawebconcepts.com.au and Free Classroom Clipart. Copyright free images were also sourced through Google. Sincere thanks to veteran educator Cherry Carl
(USA) for the inspiration, guidance and direction she provides, not to mention the absolutely brilliant poetry she writes and who she so freely makes available to educators.
