Dolly & Me Tea Party Tuesday, October 4th
Bring your favorite doll and come join the Park District for a classy afternoon on the veranda overseeing the park. Its time to get all dressed up and drink some beverages while snacking on delicious treats. We will dance, play a few games, and even create a craft. Dont miss the chance to have a play date with your favorite girlfriend! Ages 2-5. 1:00 pm 2:30 pm R: $10/NR: $20 Administrative Building, 2nd floor

Halloween Fear Home Makeover Contest Thursday, October 27th


This year the Park District will be holding its 8th annual Holiday Home Makeover Contest. The best decorated houses in Forest Park will receive FREE pool passes for up to four family members. What a great way to beat next summers heat? On October 27th, the Park District Commissioners and staff will serve as judges and drive through the Village to determine the winners. In order to be considered you must register your address with the Park District office. Factors being considered are: curb appeal, creativity, use of theme, place, use of yard and house and originality. Families may win once every three years.

Start off October with us and a fun Halloween movie! Join us for some popcorn and the movie Hocus Pocus. Ages 5-12. 6:15 8:15 $5 fee at front door Building 4

No school and looking for something fun to do?? Heres one of your last chances to visit Six Flags for the season and we couldnt have picked a better time. Creepy creatures, ghosts and ghouls come to life for the annual Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America. Participants are responsible for their own meals. Ages 11 - 18 years Monday, October 10 9:00 am - 8:00 pm R: $45/NR: $55 Trip will depart from and return to the Park District of Forest Park

Scarecrow Festival Friday, October 7th


Autumn adventures abound at Scarecrow Festival! Dozens of whimsical, clever creations convene along the tree-lined paths in Lincoln Park, downtown St. Charles, for the annual Scarecrow Festival this autumn. Join the Park District as we take a trip to St. Charles for one of the favorite family events in the Midwest! All Ages welcome. 9:00 am - 4:30 pm R: $15/NR: $20 The trip will depart and return to the Park District of Forest Park

Sonny Acres Pumpkin Patch Saturday, October 29th


During the month of October the celebration of harvest time spreads over a large area of Sonny Acres. Decorated with mountainous piles of pumpkins, you will discover a farm market, spook house, rides and all kinds of Halloween displays and attractions scattered about. Trip includes transportation and the patch is free admission. All ages welcome. 9:00 am 3:30 pm R: $15/NR: $20 The trip will depart and return to the Park District of Forest Park

Ready for something really scary this Halloween? Let us take you to some of the areas best haunted attractions including Dream Reapers in Melrose Park and the Lombard Jaycees Haunted House. These haunted houses will be sure to scare even the bravest teens. Afterward, well stop at a fast food restaurant for a quick bite to eat before heading home. Ages 12+. Kids Spooktacular Halloween Party

Put on your favorite costume and come celebrate this scary holiday with the Park District. The children will dress up and prizes will be awarded to the best costumes. The kids will cook some creepy crawler treats and decorate pumpkins. Ages 5-10 Thursday, October 27 6:15 7:45pm R: $10/NR: $15 Building 4

Mary Poppins Saturday, October 15th


One of the most popular Disney movies of all time is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a hit Broadway Musical! Join the Park District as we experience all of the classic songs and show-stopping numbers. Believe in the magic of Mary Poppins and discover a world where anything can happen if you let it. The fee provides transportation to theatre and ticket. All ages welcome. 12:00 pm 6:00 pm R: $65/NR: $75 The trip will depart and return to the Park District of Forest Park

Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus Saturday, November 19th
Ladies and gentlemen, children of all ages step right up and meet some of the most remarkable performers in The Greatest Show on Earth! Come join the Park District for a fabulous day filled with tigers, elephants, clowns and much more! Please bring spending money and money for lunch. All ages welcome. 10:30 am 2:00 pm R: $25/NR: $35 The trip will depart and return to the Park District of Forest Park

Come to the Park District of Forest Park for a fab-boo-lous night out. Its time to dress up and celebrate. There will be a DJ to dance the night away along with snacks and beverages. This October, get into the spirit of the season by taking a walking tour through Forest Home Cemetery, where the tombstones have tales to tell. Or sit back and be scared by the timeless story of Dracula. Or stroll around Oak Park and nd out about some of the spirits who haunt the community. The Historical Society of Oak Park and River Forest offers its 20th Annual Tale of the Tombstones walking tour of Forest Home Cemetery on Oct. 16; the radio play Dracula on Oct. 23; and the 2nd Annual Spirits in the Night Haunted House Walk on Oct. 28. Prepare to be entertained and maybe even scaredand to learn a little more about your communitys history!
