Pressing Your Leaves

1. Choose leaves that are relatively flat and not curled. They can be colorful or green. Though remember, you have to collect 10 different leaves! Avoid leaves that are moldy or have rot. Do not pick leaves off trees; pick the leaves from the ground that have fallen from the trees. 2. When collecting the leaves, place them in a ziploc bag so they do not dry out. ( Remember the leaf from class?!?) 3. Once you are ready to press the leaves make sure the leaves flat and dry before. ( The leaves will not need to be in the ziploc bag more than a day or so) 4. Place leaf in between between newspaper or even waxed paper . 5. Next select some of your heaviest books and place on top of the newspaper ( or waxed paper) to keep the leaves from curling. The more weight the better. 6. Keep the books on top of the leaves for at least 5-7 days. 7. Have fun picking your leaves!
