Multidisciplinary treatment is the key to the success of a stroke programme A typical multidisciplinary team consists of Nursing: High quality nursing is an essential part of stroke care. Nurses provide a central point of contact for patients and all the staff alike and ensure consistency of care

Physiotherapy: To reduce disability and complications through exercises and positioning techniques
Occupational therapist: Provides aids and therapy to improve function and reduce stroke complications through judicious use of adaptations, aids

Speech Therapists: To assess and provide therapy for victims with speech impairment following stroke
Swallow therapy: Provide assessments and treatment for stroke victims and help achieve normal swallow through exercises and bedside techniques

Social worker: Helps identify issues in a holistic viewpoint and supports patients and bystanders during their difficult journey through disability
Psychology: Helps assessing issues relating to the behavioral aspects of stroke, attitude towards the illness and helps treating the issues which may complicate strokes or delay recovery
