ISSUE 16 DECEMBER 2011

Happy Friday! It was great to get the opportunity to spend some time with those who attended Tuesday's event, SocMed 2011, at the great loft-space that is ContraStudios. You were all great audience members - Matthew Knell and Dave Kerpen didn't know what was coming to them. I look forward to getting the chance to meet more of you in the future and to learn more about your projects. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about NYSA / TechMeetups and/or would like to sponsor or get more involved. Our next event, Tech Startup Night, is scheduled for 17-Jan-2012. The focus for Jan is "Startups for Social Good" as in, (a) the startup is solely a 'social good' based company or (b) the startup is not based around 'social good' (i.e. not inherent in business model), instead there contributions are an offset. If you are doing great things in this area or know someone who is, do send me an email (luisa@techmeetups.com) - it'd be great to have you or your friend speak next month! Thank you for the wonderful reviews! NYSA would not exist, in it's current iteration, if not for the TechMeetups team and our wonderful NYC-based assistant organizers. Thank you Rik Willard, Carol Pak, Lou Leone, Wilfredo Pena, Ellen Sea and, an honorary assistant organizer for SocMed 2011, Jose Diaz-Gonzalez, who provided the appropriate cabling so we'd be able to get the projector working. Have a wonderful weekend.

Cheers, Luisa
