RSA SecurID token is a hardware device that generates passwords at fixed intervals (every 30 60 seconds) using the following:

Algorithm= the program that creates passwords using the secret Seed, Time, and Unchanging Data Seed= A secret number unique for each token. Stays the same for the life of the token -constant Time= current time -variable Unchanging Data = Addition information to increase difficulty guessing passwords (salt) or make the algorithm work (padding) -constant
