The U.S. Embassy in Nicosia has a full time opening for a Security Program Specialist position in the Regional Security Office. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with rotating shifts and rotating work days. Applicants must have the required work and residency permits to be eligible for consideration. Main responsibility: Provides security for U.S. Embassy Nicosia, employees and family members by performing security procedures in accordance with the program guidelines. In case of an imminent attack, calls for immediate assistance and takes action to prevent injury or death to personnel and destruction of property Required Qualifications: 1. Education: Completion of High School is required. 2. Prior experience: Minimum of one year of military, police, or private experience in the field of security or observing pedestrian or vehicular patterns is required. 3. Language requirement: Level III (good working knowledge) written and spoken English language skills are required. 4. Knowledge: Requires a thorough knowledge of security techniques. 5. Skills & Abilities: Must possess a valid drivers license. Must have strong organizational and observation skills. Computer skills, i.e. Word and other commonly used programs required.
