***Divisions may be expanded or combined to offer a more competitive competition at the discretion of Dance-ARama Directors. We will be watching to make sure dances are in correct category, age and ability level.
Productions: use of props/scenery/over 40 dancers/over 4 minutes in length. (Please keep productions under 15 minutes in length) Mini Productions: use of props/scenery/1-40 dancers/ under 5 minutes in length. Age levels will apply to Mini Productions. Novice: Teams who take dance lessons under 2 hrs. per week who are learning single pirouettes and basic leaps and jumps. Intermediate: Teams who take 3-4 hours of dance lessons per week, have clean single pirouettes and are working on doubles. and can do basic jumps and leaps. Advanced: Teams who take dance lessons more than 4 hours per week, have very clean double pirouettes and can do triples and other turns, and are doing advanced leaps and jumps. Time Limit: Four minutes per routine is the limit. Exception: Productions & Mini Productions. Members per group: There is a minimum of 7 dancers per group. If you have less than 7 dancers in a group you still need to pay the minimum entry fee of $84.00. Solos, Duets & Trios should compete in Dance-A-Rama on May 4th 2012. See Dance-A-Rama Solo ~ Duet~ Trio Info. Music: Please have each routine on a High quality NEW CD. Please mark clearly your studio name, name of routine, and dance category. Please take your music to our music table 45 minutes before your category begins. Teachers please adhere to this rule. Also, remember to pick up your music after the category you are in is completed. We advise that you bring a back up of all music just in case there are scratches or other problems. Judges Rating System: This year we will be having a panel of 6 judges. Each dance will be judged by 3 of the 6 judges. We will be awarding 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. They also will be rated as follows: Superior: 92-100 points Excellent: 82-91 points Outstanding: 80 and under Awards: All individuals and 1 Advisors will receive a dance T-shirt for participating. We will have a variety of sizes available. We will be giving awards 2 times during the competition, once in the early afternoon and once in the evening. The dancers may come up and sit on the stage while awards are given. There will be Studio plaques mailed to your home with the name of the dance and the year and all awards received that day. We also award several High Point Trophies, 1 per style of dance per level. Note: All Studio plaques will be mailed to your studio within approx. 7 weeks of the competition. Teachers may pick up their students T-shirts anytime during the competition at the Admissions area. You may purchase extra shirts for $10.00. Special Judges Awards: Best Choreography, Most Original, Best Technique, will be awarded mostly in the larger divisions. Each judge will be allowed to award 3 special awards throughout the day. Public Admission: Must be paid with CASH!! (credit cards and checks not excepted!) Admission for Dance-A-Rama will be $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for Children under 12 years old and Seniors age 60 and older 3 and under free. $1.00 for programs. Your hand will be stamped so you dont have to pay to re-enter. People may go in and out the entire day. The Solo Duet and Trios will be a separate charge the night before.
