Pole 'b' is the pole which has recently been replaced.

It was previously in an inconvenient position; it's in a much worse one now. There's no reason why it couldn't have been placed in the line of the hedge much like most of the other poles further out the lane. Farm machinery is always getting a bit larger and its present position is an obstacle to turning at the junction of the two lanes it's 1.7m from the centre of a 2.8m hardcore lane. Pole 'c' was replaced in 1992 but it had to be relocated at the time; BT engineers had erected in further out into the lane-way. Why can't they use a bit of common sense? It's currently 2.0m from the lane centre but isn't an obstacle. Pole 'e' is the next pole closest to the centre of the lane at 2.4m; the others are further back into the hedge, out of harm's way. No notification was given about the pole replacement and no engineer had the courtesy to discuss the problems created by relocating the new pole closer to the centre of the lane.

Replacement pole 'c' had to be put in a more sensible place in 1992; the same is required for replacement pole 'b' in 2011.
