SYNOPSIS ARCHITECTURAL PRESENTATION DRAWING provides knowledge during practicing in the drawing studio, media and basic tools to draw, primary drawing/sketching techniques, hatching techniques on drawing, presentation drawing, lettering, colour in presentation drawing, architectural presentation elements and the preparation of presentation drawing. The module aims to make the students realize the primary techniques, hatching techniques, colour and architectural presentation elements.

OBJECTIVES At the end of the module, students will be able to: 1. state the purposes and types of architectural presentation drawing. 2. explain the methods of applying the architectural presentation elements on presentation drawing. 3. discuss the theory of colour and recognize the media and colouring tools and use it on presentation drawing.

PRIMARY DRAWING/SKETCHING TECHNIQUES (2 hours) Recognizing the importance of viewing and drawing cycle and learning the primary drawing techniques started from the line, applying anthropometric and choosing the view direction. HATCHING TECHNIQUES ON DRAWING (2 hours) Learning the primary hatching techniques and its purposes on presentation drawing. PRESENTATION DRAWING (4 hours) Recognizing and preparing various types of 2D and 3D presentation drawing. LETTERING Types of lettering used on architectural presentation drawing. (2 hours)

COLOUR ON PRESENTATION DRAWING (2 hours) Discussing the theory of colour and recognizing the media and colouring tools and using it on presentation drawing. PRODUCTION OF PRESENTATION DRAWING Preparing a set of presentation drawing. (1 hour)

PRACTICE IN THE DRAWING STUDIO 1.1 Introduction to the drawing studio: 1.1.1 Recognizing the uses and purposes of the drawing studio/room in an organization/society. 1.2 Identifying materials and tools used for architectural presentation drawing: 1.2.1 Recognizing all main tools used in conventional drawing. 1.2.2 Recognizing all support tools used in the drawing studio. 1.2.3 Recognizing and understanding main purpose of each tool and its correlation.

MEDIA AND BASIC TOOLS TO DRAW 2.1 Recognizing pencil grade and quality for sketching and drawing works and the way to use it properly: 2.1.1 Recognizing and using pencil for free sketching 2.1.2 Recognizing and using clutch pencil on free sketching 2.2 Recognizing types of pen which suitable for architectural studies: 2.2.1 Recognizing and using different types of pen in architectural presentation like ball pen, felt pen, ink pen and technical pen. 2.2.2 Recognizing various types of paper for drawing works. 2.2.3 Using accurate paper for pencil and pen. 2.2.4 Using accurate paper for architectural drawing.

HATCHING TECHNIQUES ON DRAWING 4.1 Explaining and discussing the quality and characteristics of line: 4.1.1 Explaining psychological reaction and correlation towards human being. 4.2 Hatching techniques: 4.2.1 Hatching using point technique. 4.2.2 Hatching using line technique. 4.2.3 Hatching using scratch technique. 4.2.4 Hatching using the combination of point, line and scratch techniques. 4.2.5 Using suitable scratch and grain techniques to indicate the types of material such as timber, brick, stone and so forth used for drawing composition. 4.2.6 Apply the hatching technique to indicate shadows in drawing composition.
