DEPUTATION TO GOVERNMENT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE JAN , 30 2012

January 30, 2012 Dear Chairman of the Government Management Committee Mr. Paul Ainslie Dear Sir and Members of the Committee: My original letter to Mr Ford chairman of the City's Executive Committee , dated Jan 24, 2012 item was deferred to the Government Management Committee for consideration. I strongly support Mr. Meslin presentation today to the members of the Government Management Committee. Chairman Mr. Ainslie and the rest of the committee support the suggestions Mr. Meslin is proposing they aren't radical at all, on the contrary it reflects what Torontonians have expressed for the longest time to our elected officials Citizen apathy can be changed, IF the City is willing to listen and do what is right. "Is there is a WILL, there is a WAY, I will provide a relevant example The Toronto Zoo on Thursday Feb 02 2012 are debating a new governance for the Zoo the item has been deemed CONFIDENTIAL, ITEM ZB 10.16 isn't suppose a local board to be transparent and accountable to Toronto Citizen's, Mr. Ainslie you are vice-chair of the Toronto Zoo Board of Management if you are today supporting changes in other agencies or/and way the City engage Torontonians the same must apply to the Toronto Zoo. By the way . I am curious to know why you have not accepted my idea to add a Citizens Advisory Committee for the Toronto Zoo? F.Y.I: , it is long overdue. Ironically Mr. Ainlie aren't you on contradiction of the changes proposed by Mr. Meslin, are you? Remember the goal is break the apathy at Toronto City Hall and its ABC's agencies , in the hope of generate interest and build city engagement. For the last three (3) years I had talk sense to the members of the Toronto Zoo Board of Management Time and time again they ignore my suggestions. I wish good luck to Mr. Meslin in the hopes he can change one member of Council at the time for the good of our city we call our HOME. Sincerely Yours Miguel Avila Latino Canadian
