II. Pricing Due to the ever-changing costs associated with manufacturing, Carlisle has found that it is better not to send out price lists to our customers. Therefore, you will not find any prices on this site or in our catalog. Please contact Carlisle for current pricing on all items. Carlisle sells products directly to the end customers as well as through Resellers and Distributors. 1. Wholesale Pricing Carlisle has several Resellers and Distributors in the U.S.A. as well as in other countries. Often we receive calls from companies that would like to resell our products. Below are a few clarifications on how Carlisle handles wholesale pricing.
When an order is placed for a substantial quantity of an item, there may be a price break available for that quantity. Generally, there are a few separate price breaks available for increasing levels of quantity. Therefore, the more you order, the more you save. A Reseller is a company that purchases our products and Resells them. A Reseller does not stock a substantial quantity of Carlisle products. Most often, a Reseller also offers only a few select Carlisle products. For those interested in investigating Resale opportunities, please contact Carlisle Sales Management.

III. Terms and Billing Options Carlisle offers many payment methods to our customers. Below are a few of these options with explanations of the terms involved. All sales are F.O.B. Millville, NJ. Shipping costs are to be paid for by the customer. 1. Net Accounts Net accounts allow the customer to purchase items now and pay the invoice for the items at a later date. Net 30, the most common net account, allows for 30 days between the time of invoicing and the time of payment. Some net accounts will allow the customer some savings for early payment. All net accounts are subject to late payment penalties if the account is overdue. To setup a net account, the customer has to fill out a credit application (available from Carlisle upon request). Carlisles accounting department will then review your application and credit worthiness. Carlisle will then advise you of the decision regarding an open account. 2. Credit Cards Carlisle accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Credit cards can only be used to purchase Carlisle products by the authentic cardholder. Carlisle cannot process an order not authorized by the cardholder. Carlisle may require a signature from the cardholder for purchases. A copy of the credit card authorization form will either be mailed or faxed to you. Carlisle must receive the signed copy of the authorization form before any pending orders can be shipped. Credit card orders will be processed the day of shipment. 3. C.O.D. (cash on delivery) C.O.D. is an easy method for customers that do not have a credit card and are not interested in setting up a net account. With a C.O.D. order, the shipping company is responsible for accepting payment when delivery is made. An extra C.O.D. charge will apply to the shipping and handling charge on the invoice of a C.O.D. order. The amount of the charge that applies will be determined by the shipping method chosen. As a special courtesy, Carlisle contacts all customers with their total C.O.D. charges on the day of or before shipment of a C.O.D. order. 4. Prepayment Prepayment is for customers that would rather not use C.O.D. shipping. Prepayment allows a customer to send in the payment for the order before it ships. This alleviates the special C.O.D. shipping charge and the hassle of receiving a C.O.D. shipment.

10A-1 MINI CC
The Carlisle Mini CC is a totally surface mixed burner that offers a high level of versatility in the flame. This wide range of flame capabilities makes the Mini CC the perfect bench burner for beginners and experts alike. There are two versions of the Mini CC. The High Oxygen Bench Burner is suited for use with both hard and soft glass. It has been designed for increased productivity, attainable through higher flame temperatures and increased flow capabilities of gases. The second option, is the Pinpoint Bench Burner which produces a sharper, narrow flame with a longer focal length and superior piercing capabilities. The body of the mini CC is constructed of brass and has cooling fins cut into its profile to help protect the burner from heat build-up. The tube matrix, which is constructed of seven tubes, is made of stainless steel. The stand itself is designed for ease of use and places the burner head at a 45 angle. The connection of the body to the stand is made with a ball joint, allowing for an increased or decreased tilt of 15 and articulation. This allows the burner to have excellent positioning capabilities. The base also has four rubber feet to reduce the likelihood of the unit from sliding during use and features two mounting holes for permanent installations. Consumption based on standard usage is approximately 1.5 LPM (Liters Per Minute) of propane and 7 LPM of oxygen. This burner may be used with oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or even hydrogen. The recommended operating pressures are 2 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) for fuel gas and 5 PSI for oxygen.
Using the Mini CC High Oxygen Burner, my class was able to get two extra hours of torch time. I was surprised at how much this torch can do.

10A-2 WILDCAT
The WildCat Bench Burner is a totally surface mixed burner that offers a powerful flame that remains gentle enough to use with colored glass and dichroic glass. The wider flame produced by the WildCat allows for solid borosilicate work up to 1 1/2 thick and solid soft glass work up to 2 thick. Named after the rugged World War II fighter plane of the same name, the WildCat features a solid brass body construction with a stainless steel tube matrix. The tube matrix features 19 fuel ports surrounded by ample oxygen porting. The stand itself is designed for ease of use and places the burner head at a 45 angle. The connection of the body to the stand is made with a ball joint, allowing for an increased or decreased tilt of 15 to articulate the head in virtually any direction or rotation. This allows the burner to have excellent positioning capabilities. The base also has four rubber feet to reduce the likelihood of the unit from sliding during use and features two mounting holes for permanent installations. An innovative feature of this burner is the Vortex cooling system, built into the brass casing. With 12 ports cut into the front of the casing, this highly effective cooling system uses oxygen from the burner to pull air through the casing, causing the burner to release much of the heat that builds in the casing. As the operator pushes the flame to higher levels, the cooling feature also amplifies its effectiveness as the oxygen flow increases. Fuel gas and oxygen consumption for the WildCat is extremely economical, with a standard usage of approximately 3 LPM (Liters Per Minute) of propane and only 15 LPM of oxygen. This burner may be used with oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or even hydrogen. The recommended operating pressures are 2 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) for fuel gas and 5 PSI for oxygen.

The Carlisle CC and CC Plus Burners are known as cannon style burners. Their large outer case and tremendous flame output resembles the profile of a cannon. These burners may be used with a mixture of oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or hydrogen (different tips are suggested depending on the gas used). Both burners produce two distinctive flames, the centerfire (premixed) and the outer fire (surface mixed). The centerfire, which has characteristics of a single ported tip, produces a pre-mixed flame similar to what may be achieved with a Carlisle hand torch. There are three types of centerfire tip. The first is the #5 centerfire tip. This tip

has a larger orifice than the #3 centerfire tip and produces more BTUs. The #3 centerfire tip produces a more defined centerfire flame, and is often associated with propane use. The last type of centerfire tip is the hydrogen tip which is for use with hydrogen gas and has the same orifice size as the #5 centerfire tip. The #5 and #3 centerfire tips utilize piloting. The hydrogen tips are unpiloted. The outer shell of the CC series body is manufactured from brass (Stainless Steel optional). The brass shell is threaded onto a machined brass billet or a machined bronze casting, which represents the mixer body. For fuel gas supply, four metering valves are attached to the back of the mixer body. These valves are color coded for ease of use. The oxygen valves have green handles while the gas valves have red handles. These valves are standardly interconnected by crossover attachments to limit the feed hose requirements to two. The CC series is also available with four separate inlets to allow for the use of foot controllers. The standard connection type for this configuration is hose adapters. Other connection types are available such as welding hose and JIC connections. These connection types are explained further in the options and accessories section. For ordering information, refer to the How To Order section. The CC series can accept and interchange several different styles of base attachments. The standard style is a Ball & Post mount. The Ball & Post utilizes the horseshoe shaped cast iron base or crescent shaped solid steel base with a ball and socket connection. The post that extends upward is threaded directly into the bottom of the CC mixer body. This style offers a selective articulation. In order to adjust the angle of the head, the user manually releases a thumb screw in the cast iron base. When re-tightened, this provides positive burner positioning. The Rack & Pinion style mount utilizes a pinion gear to pivot the burner in an arc, offering greater range in positioning than the Ball & Post mount. The user can adjust a knob on the side of the mounting device for quick, accurate positioning. Custom lathe mounts are also available as an option. The Heat Exchanger is standard with any CC series burner. Manufactured from aluminum, the Heat Exchanger dissipates heat from the burner body. The Heat Exchanger has cooling fins providing increased surface area for the transfer of heat. Some applications with high radiant heat transfer, will find our water cooling option desirable.
Hosing
The CC burner series does not come with any hosing to connect the burner to the fuel supplies. Carlisle offers three types of hosing for this use. The most common type of hosing available is Latex Hosing. It is used by slipping the elastic end over a hose adapter and clamping the hosing down with a bracket. Latex hosing is very flexible, although it is not very durable. The next type of hosing is T grade welding hose that is specially rated to support both natural gas and propane. This hosing has both good flexibility and a much improved durability over the latex type. The third type of hosing is the stainless steel braided hosing. This hosing is produced by taking a smooth bore Teflon hose and covering it with a braided stainless steel mesh. With a moderate flexibility and a heavy durability, this hosing is what Carlisle recommends for use with the CC burner series. The stainless steel braided hosing is connected to the burner via JIC fittings or can be adapted to work with welding hose fittings as an option.

Chiller 2.0
Any burner has the potential to over heat given the right set of circumstances. Overheating causes a bench burner to rapidly degrade at a much faster rate leading to expensive repairs and eventually early replacement. For these reasons, Carlisle offers a water-cooling option to keep the CC or CC Plus Burner much cooler during operation. The Chiller 2.0 can be purchased separately and installed by the user. The user must remove the heat exchanger from the CC or CC+ Burner and slip the Chiller 2.0 over the burner barrel, tighten the set screw and hook up the water inlet and
Chiller 2.0
Water Cooling
The water cooling option keeps the CC or CC Plus Burner much cooler during operation. The water cooling option is installed by removing the heat exchanger and adding the water cooling jacket over top of the burners outer casing. The water cooling jacket is then soldered into place. The two copper water circulation tubes are flexible and can be shaped to almost any position the user desires. This option can be purchased when the burner is manufactured. It can also be added on later by sending the burner back to Carlisle for installation.
Water Cooling
Independent Pilot
The independent pilot option allows the user to have a standing pilot in front of the burner for lighting your CC or CC Plus Burner. The Independent Pilot consists of a copper tube run from the outer gas bypass valve, under the burner, and up to the face where the pilot would remain lit. The pilot is adjustable via a bypass valve that sits directly before the outer fire's gas valve. This option can be purchased with the burner or added on later, but the burner must be sent back for installation.
Independent Pilot
Foot Controller
By utilizing a foot controller, users free their hands from the need to constantly meter the flame. The EL-2 (Bulletin 28A) is designed with two solenoid valves operated by a foot pedal. When the foot pedal is pressed, the solenoid valves for both the gas and oxygen will fully open. With the next press, the same valves will completely shut down. It is important to note that this type of foot controller can only be used with the outer fire (surface mixed) of the CC series burners. Using this type of control with the center fire (pre-mixed) would be sure to invite the chance for flashback.

Lathe Attachment
Some users of the CC Burner Series will find it desirable to mount the burner on the Burner Carriage, of a glassworking lathe. This requires the removal of the existing cast iron base and attachment to the lathe mount. Different lathe manufacturers may have slightly different burner carriage configurations. We customize the lathe mount to accommodate these design differences. However, the mount provides for a low profile burner attachment with a slide bar as a base fixture. The slot in the sliding base allows for a high degree of adjustability from the mount.
CC Series Valves
For fuel gas supply, four metering valves are attached to the back of the CC series burners mixer body. These valves are color coded for ease of use. The oxygen valves have a green handle while the gas has a red handle. These valves are standardly interconnected by crossover attachments to limit the feed hose requirements to two. The valves and the crossovers can be purchased separately for replacement. There is also a Valve Replacement Kit available that includes all four valves and the two crossovers for a complete changeout of the of valve system.
Gas Optimizer
Utilizes compressed air Bleed into the fuel gases through (2) Venturi mixers mounted at the burner valve body. By premixing the gas, the optimizer decreases the BTU capacity per cubic foot of a specific fuel gas. This changes the dynamics and flame characteristics. With propane, the flame becomes more focused and narrow with the use of the optimizer. This also helps reduce the burning out or muting of more exotic colors. In order to produce the same amount of heat, a greater volume of gases must pass through the burner. As the flow increases, the gases travel faster. High gas velocity results in less heat transfer back into the burner, allowing the burner to operate cooler. Compressed air is less costly than compressed oxygen which saves money too.

because of the Optimizer compressed air flow. Most importantly! The Optimizer is an option. Turn off all the air flow and you will have the aggressive, biting flame for which Carlisle is known. Add the air back in with the Optimizer, and get a softer flame that treats your glass with ease. When I fume gold into the glass, I use the CC centerfire without the air from the Optimizer. Once I get the gold right were I want it, I turn on the Optimizer and then the flame cant affect my fuming. I dont even have to encase it. Josh Mazet, Mazet Studios

The CC Plus Burner RP Model is a product that came about by the suggestions of Roger Parramore, an artistic glassworker. The RP Model is a modified version of the standard CC Plus Burner. The modifications include a stainless steel outer casing that replaces the standard brass and, a change in the heat exchanger. The stainless steel outer casing reflects heat, reducing the build up of heat in the burner. The stainless steel outer casing also has a more tapered head that gives it less of a surface area to absorb heat and allows the operator to work more closely to the burner tip. The suggestions that we received from Roger Parramore helped us to create the new heat exchanger style. This tapered heat exchanger was first offered on the RP Model and has since become a standard for the CC Plus Series. By tapering the heat exchanger, it allows for more room to work with the piece without the user placing their hands too close to the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is also knotched to sit further back on the nozzle. Additionally, all standard models have stainless steel separator rings instead of brass. The RP Model is available with all of the options and accessories of the standard CC Plus Series.

GR BURNER
Carlisles GR Burner produces similar flame characteristics to the CC Plus Burner (Bulletin 10A). Much like the CC Plus, the GR is setup with a pre-mixed center fire and a surface mixed outer fire which are independently controlled. The major difference between these two burners is in their body styles. The CC Plus Burner is meant for use as a bench mount burner, the GR is a more versatile head that can be used as a bench burner or a lathe burner. These burners may be used with a mixture of oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or even hydrogen. The GR is characterized by a shorter body without valves or a mixing chamber. This makes the GR head a lighter burner that can fit into areas where other bead burners could not. The GR burner is controlled by a set of remote valves such as a VMB-4 (Bulletin 16E). This valve metering block has its own mixing chamber set up with four valves to create three separate outputs. These outputs are gas, oxygen, and gas/oxy mixed for use with the pre-mixed center fire. Most often, the remote valving is connected to the GR Burner through the use of stainless steel braided hosing. If designated, three 72 hoses are supplied with the burner. The GR Burner head can be water cooled as an option. The GR Burner can be purchased with a Bunsen Burner like base that clamps onto the GRs body. This bench mount allows the GR to function as a standard bench work torch. Although, this base is easily removed to adapt the GR to a lathe burner assembly. The Lathe Attachment is an adaptive piece that allows the burner head to be mounted onto a lathes fire carriage. Since there are many different types of lathes, the Carlisle Lathe Attachment is designed with the customers requirements in mind. GR Burner with Bench Mount (Without hosing and VMB-4) 10B001-0000

Lucio Burner Face Lucio Burner with Dragon Casting 10D001-0100 Lucio Burner with no Casting 10D002-0100
Designed to meet the needs of the professional soft glass flameworker, the Lucio Burner is the premier torch for sculpting in soft glass. Using low pressure fuel gas and oxygen, this torch provides a soft, wide flame, that promotes less stress in the glass, helping to avoid cracks and allowing the artist to work larger projects. The Lucio Burner with the Dragon Casting is the perfect blend of form and function. Cast in a heat resistant bronze from a design sketched by Lucio Bubacco, the torch becomes a work of art in itself. Incorporated into this design is a rod system that provides 4 inches of vertical height adjustment, allowing the operator to get under the flame for larger sculpture. The torch top graphite marver that sits on the crest of the dragons head features an angle adjustment. A separate angle adjustment is also offered for the head of the burner. Also offered in a more economical model, the Lucio Burner is available without the casting. In this version, the burner is instead affixed to a Mini CC Base, where the burner head is adjustable via a ball joint articulation. This model produces the same flame characteristics, although it does not feature the graphite marver nor the vertical height adjustment.

SMT BURNERS
The Carlisle SMT, or Surface Mixed Tube, Ribbon Burners are designed for maximum safety, durability, and performance. The SMT is a totally surfaced mixed burner, and thus has virtually no possibility of flashback. These burners may be used with a mixture of oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or even hydrogen. The SMT maintains a very hot sharp fire with a continuously even flame in any position, therefore eliminating any cold spots. These burners can operate at extremely high velocities and yet can be pulled back to an almost invisible flame. The SMT is manufactured from stainless steel with the porting itself consisting of monel hypotubes. The SMT can be made in flame lengths as small as a 1/2 to as large as 13. It is important to note that flame space does not reflect the burners overall length. It should be noted that with a larger flame length, a set of retaining clamps may be needed to maintain a uniform flame. Carlisle will install this option as requested, and recommend if the option is required. SMTs are available in four different styles for ease of use. These styles are depicted on the lower right hand corner of this bulletin. Both style A and C are for machine mounting. They are available with the optional cast iron clamp to facilitate their mounting to any machine. Style B Complete is used for bench work and comes with a set of red and green handled valves. The Style B is also fitted into a cast iron case and bench stand. The Style BC is identical to the Style B with the exception that the two valves are located on the same side of the burner, resembling the feed tube setup of the Style C SMT. SMT 148 STYLE BURNER
The Carlisle SMT (Surface Mixed Tube) 148 Style Burners, and the standard SMT burners (Bulletin 11A) work in similar fashions. Both styles are totally surface mixed with virtually no possibility of flashback. Both have the ability to run multiple fuel gas/oxygen mixtures, such as propane, natural gas, and even hydrogen. The main difference between the two styles is their method of construction. While SMT burners are manufactured from a stainless steel pipe, the SMT 148 Style Burners are constructed from a solid piece of rectangular metal. It is a much more durable construction than the pipe system, and offers the option of brass or stainless steel construction. In addition, the 148 Style allows for more than one row of tubing. Two rows can easily be added with a negligible difference in body size. When a 148 Style is manufactured with three rows of porting, a different type of construction is used that resembles the face of a PK 1885-D burner (Bulletin 13A).

The 1-Jet is the smallest of this style of lathe burner offered by Carlisle. Each head has only one gas port on its face. The gas exiting this port mixes with the oxygen that enters from porting located surrounding the face. This type of mixing is known as nozzle mixing and shares many of the same attributes as the surface mixed flame. Also, the chances of flashback are significantly reduced through this type of design. The versatile 1-Jet burner allows for almost any fuel gas type. This would include natural gas, propane, mixed gases, and hydrogen. Recommended operating pressures are gas at 5 P.S. I. and oxygen at 10 - 15 P.S.I. The dual pivot motion of both the head and arms with the bed allows the Carlisle lathe burner to accommodate a wide range of glass tube diameters. The side-arms are available with the standard arm clips or the advanced design arm-tensioners. The arm clips use a nut and bolt to tighten the two clips holding the arms. This works well for a set position of the arms but complicates re-adjustment of the heads. The arm-tensioners use two holding brackets which can be tightened or loosened by a single hex nut located between them. With this system it is easier to adjust the sidearms and heads to new positions.

C-702 LATHE BURNERS
The Carlisle C-702 Lathe Burner uses modified CC Burner (Bulletin 10A) heads in a 2, 4, or 6 head configuration. Each head is controlled independently through the use of remote metering blocks, such as the Carlisle VMB controllers (Bulletin 16E). With such a fine control, the operator is able to produce flames anywhere from pin point to 1 in diameter. The C-702 Lather Burner Series is standardly offered in three separate configurations. The first of these is the style L. This style offers a 2, 4, or 6 head lathe burner with totally surface mixed heads but without any hoses or VMB controllers. The style LA offers the same setup as the style L, but with braided Teflon hoses and VMB-2 controllers added on. The last style is the CF-LA, which is offered only with 2 or 4 heads. This style has a surface mixed outer fire and a pre-mixed inner fire (customer must specify if hydrogen is to be used) much like that of the CC Burner. Its flame characteristics are very similar to the CC Burners and can give many of the same flame working conditions. The style CF-LA also comes with braided Teflon hoses and VMB-4 controllers. The lathe burners in the C-702 series have beds and arms that are comprising completely of stainless steel. The C-702 heads are constructed with a brass outer casing and a stainless steel tube matrix. For extra protection against burner degradation, the casings can be made from a resilient stainless steel.

C-705-LHT 12B001-0000 The C-705 Hand Torch is a completely surface mixed burner. This allows for a wide variety of fuel gases including natural gas, propane, and hydrogen with oxygen. This torch does not require the use of special mixing devices and the possibility of a flashback is minimal. The C-705 Hand Torch model is a very customizable item. A few of the available options are listed below.
Angled Head: This option will allow the torch to be ordered with a head angled anywhere from 1 deg. to
90 deg.
Water Cooling: By slipping a jacket over the head of the C-705 Hand Torch, we can give the added heat
resistance and decreased burner degradation of a water cooled head.
Stainless Steel Head: The C-705 is normally manufactured from brass with a stainless steel tube matrix. With this option, the handle would remain brass while the entire head would instead be constructed from stainless steel. This option will also help to decrease burner degradation. Wooden Handle: With this option an ergonomic wooden handle is added to the feed tube. Valving: Valves can be added directly to the base of the torch rather than working with a remote metering system such as the VMB-2 (Bulletin 16E).

arm-tensioners. The arm clips use a nut and bolt to bring together the clips holding the arms. This works well for a set positioning of the arms but complicates re-adjustment of the heads. After many repeated tightening and loosening of the arm clips which have been inadvertantly heat treated by use of the burner, their effectiveness is reduced and will need periodic replacement. The armtensioner uses two holding brackets which can be tightened or loosened by a single hex nut located between them. With this system it is easier to positively adjust the sidearms and heads to new positions and positioning is not reduced. The 14-Jet Lathe Burner is ideal for almost any type of glass working. It works well with both soft and hard glass, and excels in use with quartz. The burner is manufactured from heat resistant alloy steel. The burner bed, side arms, burner tips, arm clips, and arm tensioners can all be ordered seperately. Since two side arms make up the assembly that holds one burner tip, the side arms are offered in pairs. Each pair is numbered for easy reordering. To determine which side arm pair is needed, simply start at the center of the lathe burner and count the pairs of arms outward. For example, a 6 head lathe burner would have pairs 1, 2, and 3 on one side and pairs 1, 2, and 3 on the other side.

PK BURNERS
BULLETIN REFERENCES The Carlisle PK Burners are manufactured from a brass housing with a stainless steel tube assembly. The tube assembly allows the PK Burner to surface mix a wide range of fuel gases. While primarily relatively soft and intensely hot fire, the Carlisle PK Burner can also be used with a turbulent, high velocity flame. In fact, this burner has an almost infinite possibility of flame characteristics. Although, it should be noted that when using a low soft flame, oxidizing effects should be maintained. Reducing or normalizing fires in the low flow range will cause premature burn-out of the stainless steel tube assembly. The tube assembly itself is angled slightly inward towards the center of the assembly, giving a focused effect. Carlisle does offer the PK Burner in a totally stainless steel version. This option will prolong the life of the burner by decreasing burner degradation. This option is designated by a SS added to the burner number of each individual PK Burner. The housing of the PK Burner has two inlet feed ports which are sized 1/8 FPT. The fuel gas inlet is located center back while the oxygen inlet is found on the PKs side.

The Carlisle PK 1880 Burners are an all stainless steel construction. The standard PK Burner and the 1880 Series tube assemblies differ in that the 1880 Burner Series face has individual oxygen porting surrounding the gas porting. This allows for a more defined flame. The tube assembly of the 1880 Burner Series is not angled inward like the standard PK Burners. The 1880 Burner Series can be used with natural gas, propane, or hydrogen and oxygen. The PK 1880 Burner Series has an almost infinite possibility of flame characteristics. Although, it should be noted that when using a low soft flame, oxidizing effects should be maintained. PILOTED OXYGEN SINGLE HOLE BURNER TIPS
Carlisle Piloted Oxygen Burner Tips are offered in a multitude of different styles. These tips can be manufactured from brass, stainless steel, or both. They can be used on a number of different hand torches, machines, or in custom manifolds such as a crossfire setup. Carlisle tips are manufactured for use with a mixture of oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or mixed gas. Although some of Carlisles other tips are used with a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen, it is recommended that this mixture not be used with any type of piloted burner. Carlisle also recommends that hydrogen and oxygen mixtures not be used with any type of pre-mixed burners except single hole un-piloted burner tips. Piloting allows the flame produced by a burner to provide increased stability. Piloted Oxygen Burner Tips achieve this effect through the use of knurled inserts that form a ring of smaller ports around the larger center orifice. This low level of burning gas forms a supporting foundation around the center flame. Due to the increased stability, an operator is able to push the burner harder without the flame moving off of the face of the burner.
OX1300-A SERIES
This series is offered in both brass and stainless steel. The body style is hexagonal. This burner is utilized frequently on machinery for glassworking.
1300-A
OX1319 SERIES
OX1319
The OX1319 series is offered in stainless steel only. This series has one of the largest flame outputs of any single orifice piloted tip sold by Carlisle. By using a unique double ring piloting system, these tips can utilize exceptionally large center drill sizes and still develop flame lengths over 12.
IT SERIES
IT-2
The IT tip series, offered only in stainless steel, is a unique series because of the design of its piloting. Rather than using a knurled insert, this series uses a milled slot for piloting that is located below the port configuration. This design makes it very difficult for a blow-off to occur. For varied flame types, this series is offered with 1 - 3 port holes.
The 8 burner series is offered only in stainless steel. The 8 series consists of mostly smaller burners which are used for their pinpoint flames. Most burners in this series are still able to produce overall flame lengths of between 3 - 6 with focal lengths of 1/8 - 3/8. 8-M

OXYGEN FISHTAIL BURNER TIPS
Carlisle Piloted Oxygen Fishtail Burner Tips are manufactured a heat resistant stainless steel alloy. They can be used on a number of different hand torches, on machines, or in custom manifolds such as a crossfire setup. Carlisle tips are manufactured for use with a mixture of oxygen and either natural gas, propane, or mixed gas. Although some of Carlisles other tips are used with a hydrogen and oxygen mixture, it is recommended that this mixture not be used with any type of piloted burner. Carlisle also recommends that hydrogen and oxygen mixtures not be used with any type of pre-mixed multi hose piloted burners. Fishtail Burners can have one of two types of flames, depending on the port configurations. These two types are parallel and divergent. A Fishtail Burners flame is parallel when the drilled porting that is utilized up the burner are all drilled at the same angle so that all focal points are parallel with one another. The flame is considered divergent if the porting is at different angles causing the flame to fan out to a wider focus than the face of the head. BULLETIN REFERENCES Hand Torches- Bulletins 22A, 22B, 22C, 22D, 22E AdaptersBulletin 24C Carlisle Piloted Oxygen Fishtail Burner Tips are pre-mixed. As with any pre-mixed burner, be sure to use the proper equipment: MixersBulletins 17C, 16E ControlsBulletins 16A, 16B, 16C, 16E Piloting allows the flame produced by a burner to experience increased stability. Carlisle Piloted Oxygen Fishtail Burner Tips achieve this effect through a ring of smaller drilled ports around the larger porting. This low level of burning gas forms a sort of supporting foundation around the center flame. Due to the increased stability, an operator is able to push the burner harder without the flame moving off of the face of the burner.

Carlisle Un-piloted Oxygen Fishtail Burner Tips are manufactured from a heat resisting stainless steel alloy. They can be used on a number of different hand torches, on machines, or in custom manifolds such as a crossfire setup. Carlisle tips are manufactured for use with a mixture of oxygen and natural gas, propane, or mixed gas. Although some of Carlisles other tips are used with a hydrogen and oxygen mixture, it is not recommended that this mixture be used with any type of pre-mixed burner. Unlike the Piloted Fishtail Burner Series, these tips only have the larger porting and no smaller porting. The lack of supporting flame from the missing piloting means that the tip can not be pushed as hard as a tip with piloting. 112F SERIES DRILLED PORT OXYGEN BURNERS
The 112F Drilled Port Oxygen Burners are ideal when cold spots or multi-burner assemblies cannot be tolerated. The 112F Series has a staggered 3 row drilled port pattern giving the burner the ability to maintain a uniform flame regardless of flame length. The 112F Burners can be manufactured from either brass or stainless steel. The flame space can be anywhere from 1 to 14. It is important to note that flame space does not reflect the burners overall length. The inlet is located center-back and is standardly 1/4 FPT. This burner can be used with propane, natural gas, or mixed gases and a mixture of oxygen. This makes the 112F an excellent burner for sealing operations, fire polishing, and forming. Both the stainless steel and brass models are available with the water cooling option. This option helps to keep the burner cool for operator safety, and also helps to combat burner degradation from extreme temperature environments.

GAS OXYGEN MULTI-PORT BURNER TIPS
Carlisle Gas Oxygen Multi-port Burner Tips can be used on a number of different hand torches, machines, or in custom manifolds such as a crossfire setup. These powerful tips offer a wider flame pattern by providing several drilled ports in either a circular or perforated pattern (See the Circular vs. Perforated reference below) rather than one single orifice. It is important to note that these Multi-port Burner Tips are not piloted and therefore cannot be pushed as hard as a piloted orifice tip. There are two separate types of Multi-port Burner Tips available. The first line of tips is the C-536 line which features a circular port pattern. The C-536 line is constructed with a brass hex body and a stainless steel insert that is pressed and soldered into the body. The second line of Multi-port Burner Tips is the 1380 series. The 1380 series features a perforated port pattern with a stainless steel insert and a sectional brass body. The 1380 series also offers an advanced insert method where the insert is threaded into the body to ensure that it will not blow out of the body during high pressure use. Both series of tips offer the stainless insert and the brass body construction since both metals serve a different purpose. The stainless insert resists face degradation while the body constructed of brass is a better dissipater of heat than the stainless. Also, both tips are offered in a 3/8-32 and 7/16-24 female threading. The C-536-53 tip is the only exception to this and is offered in 3/8-32, 7/16-24 and 1/2 NPT female threading. The Multi-Port Burner Tip series can be manufactured in special port configurations. Please contact your Carlisle Representative with your custom needs.

40 SERIES FINE THREAD METERING VALVES
HOW TO ORDER The Carlisle 40 Series Fine Thread Metering Valves have been carefully designed and precision built to assure maximum efficiency. They are rated for use with all types of combustible gases as well as with air or oxygen. The sturdy construction of the 40 Series valve enables it to be used with high pressure gases. Every Carlisle 40 Series valve is leak-tested under high pressure prior to shipping. The 40 Series body is manufactured out of a durable brass. Teflon packing is used for maximum corrosion resistance and safety when using oxygen. The stems are stainless steel and have been threaded for fine metering of the gases. The 46A, 47A, and 48A valves in particular have an extra long tapered stem for extremely fine control. The handles are standardly constructed from brass. For the colored handles, an anodized aluminum handle replaces the brass handle. The colored handles are available in both green and red. The handle can also be made in a slotted style so that the adjustments to the valve require a flat head screwdriver. HANDLE STYLE 0 = BRASS 1 = RED 2 = GREEN 3 = SLOTTED

Carlisle Ball Valves allow the operator to have a positive shut off of gases. A 1/4 turn of the handle will adjust the valve from fully open to fully closed. By looking at the Ball Valves handle, the operator is able to determine whether the valve is open or closed. If the handle is parallel to the piping, the valve is fully open. The Carlisle Ball Valves are manufactured from bronze castings. The valves are rated for 400 p.s.i. service. The stem is manufactured of brass and is blowoutproof as an added safety measure. The seals and rings are manufactured from glass filled Teflon. This means that the Ball Valve is capable of handling temperatures up to 450 F. The use of Teflon seals allows for the use of a wide range of gases and liquids. The Carlisle Ball Valve is rated to handle most types of gases including propane, natural gas, butane, methane, hydrogen, and oxygen. They can also handle liquid petroleum and steam (up to 150 p.s.i.).

VMB AND SVR CONTROLLERS
The Carlisle VMB and SVR Controllers are metering and mixing units which allow for precision control of flame. The VMB and SVR work well with both pre-mix and surface mix flames. Their are also units available to handle combination burners where both surface mixed and pre-mixed flames are required. Both VMBs and SVRs are constructed from aluminum blocks. The blocks are then fitted with precision Carlisle valve stems to offer fine metering control of the gases. The valve stems used are comparable to the 42S valve offered on Bulletin 16A. The valve stem itself is constructed from stainless steel and the valve assembly is manufactured from brass. The handles of the valves are color coded to reduce confusion during operation. The fuel gas valve handles are red while the air/oxy valve handles are green. The inlets of the VMBs and SVRs are standardly set at 1/2. This can be altered if specified to be either 1/4 or 1/2 on the fuel gas inlet or the air/oxy inlet. The outlets for the VMB Controllers are 1/4 and the SVR Controllers are 3/4. Each VMB and SVR comes supplied with hose adapters for both the inlets and outlets. VMB Controllers The VMB Controller has a smaller capacity than the SVR. It is mainly used for the metering of fuel gas and oxygen combinations, although it will work with fuel gas and air. There are three units of VMBs which are available in addition to the specialty units which can be created by Carlisle for your specific applications.

VENTURI MIXERS
Carlisle burners have several distinct types of flame. One type of flame is a surface mix flame, where the gases (gas and air, gas and oxygen) mix outside of the burner as they are being consumed by the flame. Another type of flame is a pre-mixed flame, where the gases mix in a chamber before exiting the burner. Some pre-mixed burners use mixing chambers that are internally built into the torch, while others use an external mixing device like the Carlisle Venturi Mixer. The Venturi Mixer has inlets for both the fuel gas (natural gas, propane) and the air (and/or oxygen). Inside the mixer body, the Venturi Mixer mixes these gases properly and distributes them through the outlet. This mixing ratio is controlled by the sizing of the Jet and the Throat that are part of the mixer body. When the higher pressure air or oxygen is brought into the mixer, it must pass through the Jet. By limiting the size of the Jet, the mixer controls the amount of air that is capable of entering the mixing chamber. The fuel gas enters through its side inlet unrestricted into the mixing chamber. The pressure of the air pushing through the Jet mixes the gases together and forces them out through the Throat at the proper ratio. A zero govenor regulator is recommended for this application. The Carlisle Venturi Mixer is manufactured of brass hex for a sturdy construction. The standard Venturi Mixers come with the BULLETIN REFERENCES ControlsSafetyOther Mixer Types16A, 16E 18A, 18B 17D, 16E 15 Venturi Mixer 17C009-0000 HOW TO ORDER MODEL NUMBER DRILLING 0 = STANDARD 1 = CUSTOM

3-WAY SETUPS
There are some cases when an operator may need to mix together three types of gases. The most common example of this would be when fuel gas and air are combined with the option of bleeding in oxygen for a more intense flame. This can easily be accomplished with the Carlisle Venturi Mixer by ganging two of these together. The first mixer is used to combine the air and oxygen. Its mix outlet is then attached to the air inlet of the second mixer where the fuel gas is introduced. This is quite often referred to as a piggyback system. Your Carlisle Sales Representative can also size the custom drilling for these setups as well as the standard setup. Pre-assembled venturi and valve systems can be ordered to your specifications as well. Carlisle also offers atmosphericly inspirated and high pressure inspirated mixers (Bulletin 17D).

V SERIES INSPIRATORS
V-3 Inspirator
The Carlisle V Series Inspirator is constructed from a cast iron body with some brass pieces in the assembly. These Inspirators are used to pull atmospheric air to be used for the mixture of gas and air. By adjusting a shutter, the operator can control the amount of air that will be pulled into the inspirator and used for the mixture. This is very similar to the familiar design of a bunsen burner shutter. By closing off the shutter, a gas rich flame can be produced. This design offers a great range of possible mixing ratios. Machining of the throat and careful aligning of internal parts insures maximum efficiency of these inspirators. This allows the V Series Inspirator to maintain a constant gas/air ratio throughout the range of firing rates.

FIRE CHECKS
Carlisle Fire Checks are safety devices that provide protection against flashback. Flashback is the occurrence of the fire burning backwards down inside the mixed gas feed piping, or gas and/or oxygen lines. When flashback occurs, your system runs serious risk of not only damaging equipment, but also a dangerous fire/explosion hazard if the flashback were to reach a pocket of gas such as a fuel tank or manifold. The Carlisle Fire Check protects against flashback by quenching the fire. However, a Fire Check is not positive closing, like a Carlisle Flashback Arrestor (Bulletin 18B). The Fire Check is constructed of a hex brass housing on the C-70, C-80, and C-90 models. The C-100, C-110, C-120, and C-130 are offered in a round steel housing or round stainless steel housing. The ends of the housing are threaded to a specified NPT size (see chart). Inside of the housing is a bundle of stainless steel corrugated ribbon. The Fire Check is placed in line with the gas feed piping. When a flashback travels down the pipe and reaches the Fire Check, the fire is physically quenched by the cold stainless steel corrugated ribbon. Since the Fire Check physically quenches the fire, the Fire Check will eventually have to be replaced, as the ribbon inside becomes unusable.

FLASHBACK ARRESTORS
The new 8491 Series re-settable flashback arrestors offer 4 safety devices in each unit. Safety features include protection against flashbacks with a wide range of mixtures of oxygen or air with flammable gases including hydrogen, acetylene, methane, and LPG gases. The design includes a built-in non-return (check) valve to stop reverse flow and a thermal shut off which stops gas flow in the event of a hose or pipe line fire. An easily re-settable pressure control stops gas flow in the event of reverse flow or a flashback that creates 10 psig back pressure. This feature alerts the user that a reverse flow or a flashback of greater than 10 psig has occurred. These units are easily re-set by pulling up on the pressure control ring, no disassembly of the gas line or special tools are needed. The 8491 Series high flow capacity makes them suitable for a broad range of applications (see flow table). Units are U/L listed and meet ISO 5175, EN 730, BS 6158, and AS 4603 standards.

JM SERIES AIR BURNER TIPS
The JM Series Air Burner Tips are single orifice gas air burner tips that can run on a premix of gas and air or a supply of raw gas. The patented open fire design allows the single orifice centerfire and accompanying piloting to draw in atmospheric air through the venting in the bottom of the cup. This innovation allows the burner to run with atmospheric inspiration of the air. The JM Series Burner Tips can run on natural gas, mixed gas, and propane with or without air. The JM Series is offered in several sizes from the JM-1 to the JM-17. The JM Series Burner Tips are manufactured from either stainless steel, plain steel, or cast iron depending on the size of the tip. Please see the chart for specific material information. Some tips are offered in several different thread sizes, to accommodate the many possible uses for these tips. There are also some tips that will have both female and male thread sizes listed. These units are double threaded and so have both thread sizes. These tips are used in many different applications. They can be used in furnaces, pre-heat applications, soldering, jewelry manufacturing, pilot applications, and glass annealing to name a few. These tips work well with Carlisle Hand Torches (See Bulletin References) and in custom assemblies. Please contact your Carlisle Representative with your special needs.

PILOTED AIR FISHTAIL BURNER TIPS
Carlisle Piloted Air Fishtail Burner Tips are manufactured of brass with stainless steel corrugated ribbon used for the piloting. They can be used on a number of different hand torches, on machines, or in custom manifolds such as a crossfire setup. Carlisle tips are manufactured for use with a mixture of air and either natural gas, propane, or mixed gas. Although these Carlisle tips can be used with a gas air mixture with oxygen bled in for increased heat potential, they are not meant for a pure gas oxygen mixture. Fishtail Burners can have one of two types of flames, depending on the port configurations. These two types are parallel and divergent. A Fishtail Burners flame is parallel when the drilled porting that makes up the burner are all drilled at the same level so that all focal points are parallel with one another. The flame is considered divergent if the porting is at different angles causing the flame to fan out to a wider focus than the face of the head. Piloting allows the flame produced by a burner to experience increased stability. Carlisle Piloted Air Fishtail Burner Tips achieve this effect through a ring of stainless steel corrugated ribbon around the main porting. This low level of burning gas forms a sort of supporting foundation around the center flame. Due to the increased stability, an operator is able to push the burner harder without the flame moving off of the face of the burner. The N style that is offered by Carlisle features two rings of piloting. This style was offered for use with natural gas. It was found that the N style also works equally well with mixed gases and propane. The now obsolete O style, which was made for mixed gases, had only one ring of piloting. All O style burners are compatible and replaceable by their N counterparts. An example of this would be that the 104-O burner can be replaced with the 104-N burner without compromising the flame characteristics. Some of the Carlisle Piloted Air Fishtail Burner Tips can be manufactured out of stainless steel. Please contact your Carlisle Sales Representative with your special needs. There are two body styles in this series. The differences between the two are primarily cosmetic. The Style A burner is 1 9/16 wide at its base and tapers at the top of the burner to a 3/4 wide face. The height of the burner is 2 3/16 and the inlet pipe size is 3/4. The Style B burner is 1 wide at its bas and tapers at the top of the burner to a 3/4 wide face. The height of the burner is 1 3/8 and the inlet pipe size is 3/8. The two styles are shown in the pictures of this bulletin. The recommended premix burner pressure is 1 1/4 W.C. When using a premix system at a pressure higher than 1 1/4 W.C., a restriction orifice can be installed in the feed inlet of the burner to maintain the correct pressure.

Ribbon Burners can be configured with a variety of Ribbon and Port Patters. As the open area of the construction increases, so does the capacity. Various ribbons will give better flames for heating, or flame treating. Gas mixtures may work better with different ribbon constructions. Arrows indicate increasing capacity. Not all ribbons can be used with all pipe sizes or castings.

GAS AIR DRILLED PORT RING BURNERS
Carlisle Drilled Port Ring Burners are used in both the glass and plastic industries. In the glass industry, the healthy flame from the ring burner is often used in warming or shrinking applications. While in the plastics industry, the drilled port ring burner delivers a high level of surface treatment to bottles and other circular plastic containers. The strength of the Carlisle Drilled Port Ring Burners is in the design of its construction. The Ring Burners feature drilled ports that provide for a precision flame for gas air applications. The drilled porting delivers an exacting flame not possible with the conventional crimped ribbon style porting. The porting is drilled in such a way that the flame creates an upward vortex. This allows the flame to move upward rather than impinging upon itself. Also, rather than constructing the ring burner in two halves that break up the flame port area, the Carlisle Drilled Port Ring Burners are constructed of one top half and one bottom half that are then bolted together. This construction provides for a seamless flame port area that ensures an even flame characteristic. It is important to note that with this design many of the smaller ring burners can be fed with only one inlet rather than two, which makes for easier feed piping. The Gas Air Drilled Port Ring Burners are available in both cast iron and brass materials. Cast iron is more durable and better at dissipating the heat from the head, thus improving the head life. However, the brass construction does offer a cost savings due to reduced fabrication time. HOW TO ORDER MATERIAL 1 = CAST IRON 2 = BRASS

FLAME CHECK
Carlisle Flame Check has been designed to provide a fast, accurate, quality control indicator for surface treatment levels on flamed Polyolefin products. By immersing the product into a container filled with Flame Check and seeing how much of the Flame Check recedes from the surface, you can determine the approximate level of surface treatment. Since there are different applications that require different levels of surface treatment, there are two levels of strength flame check offered by Carlisle. The first, which is known as Flame Check # 1, is red. It will confirm a moderate surface treatment up to a 45 dyne level. This level of surface treatment is suitable for most labeling operations. The second type, which is known as Flame Check # 2, is green. It will confirm a severe surface treatment up to a 70 dyne level. Flame Check is only sold by the case. One case of Flame Check consists of 12 bottles. Each bottle contains 16 fl. oz. ADJUSTABLE FLAME LENGTH BURNERS
Carlisle Adjustable Flame Length Burners are used in both the glass and plastic industries. In the glass industry, the warm gas air flame is often used in the neon industry for tube bending operations. This burner has also been used in warming-in or warming -o ut appli catio ns where higher heat gas oxygen burners are used to work the glass. While in the plastics industry, the Adjustable Burner delivers a high level of surface treatment to plastic bottles and containers. This burner series is especially advantageous for setup where variable lengths of product are treated, since the adjustable flame length allows for great flexibility. The Adjustable Flame Length Burners are suitable for use with a mixture of natural gas, propane, or mixed gases and air. The Adjustable Flame Length Burners feature a brass construction. The body and the slide are brass, the slide is the only exception with a slot of stainless steel being used for the bottom of the slide that allows for the flame lengths adjustability. The brass insert features three rows of drilled porting that provide for a precision flame for gas air applications. The drilled porting is supported by milled slots that run down the length of both sides. The milled slots constitute the piloting that supports the main drilled port flame. The slide is used to adjust the flame length of the burner. By moving the slide inward or outward, the operator seals off or opens up the flame length until the desired flame length is reached. It is important to note that it is not recommended that any Adjustable Flame Length Burner be sealed off to any more than half of its maximum flame length.

UNECON HAND TORCH
The Unecon Hand Torch (Picture on Bulletin 22B) is based on the popular Universal torch design. Both designs feature brass construction with chrome plating for the nozzle and the tubes. Red and green valve handles constructed of aluminum are standard on both with the mixing assembly internal to the torch. The difference between the Unecon and the Universal Torch is that the Unecon uses a dead lift lever coupled with a wooden handle. This lever will allow the gasses to flow freely when depressed and will shut off the flow when released. This helps to maximize the efficiency of the torch while retaining a certain valve setting. The wooden handle provides for operator comfort by utilizing an ergonomic design. The Unecon Hand Torch can be used with a mixture of natural gas, propane, or mixed gas and air or oxygen. The Unecon Hand Torch is available with either a 1/4 Nozzle (1/4-28M thread) or a 3/8 Nozzle (3/832M thread). Both can be used with a mixture of either gas and oxygen or gas and air. The two nozzles are interchangeable. However, the two nozzles utilize different carburetors for mixing of the gasses. The 1/4 Nozzle uses the #74 Carburetor and the 3/8 Nozzle uses the #34 Carburetor. It is important to note that when changing the nozzle to a different size, the carburetor must also be changed.

The nozzles accept a wide range of tips that are available in a variety of materials. Many will attach to the hand torch with the threading on the nozzle. However, some may need an adapter. The Hanger has an eye on the tube for hanging the Unecon Hand Torch. There is also a pilot on the end that is adjustable via a pet cock valve. The Hanger clamps to the work bench with a vise assembly. On the base of the Unecon Torch Hanger are two hose adapters on either side. These are for connecting gas and oxygen through the Hanger which is necessary in order to feed the fuel gas to the pilot. If your application requires a special design for the Unecon Hand Torch or its accessories, please contact your Carlisle sales representative to discuss your custom needs.

UNIVERSAL HAND TORCH
The Universal Hand Torch is manufactured of brass with chrome plating for the nozzle, feed tubes, and valve body. Red and green anodized aluminum valve handles are standard. The mixing of gases takes place inside the torch body, enhanced by the carburetor unit. The Universal is balanced to allow a comfortable grip and still afford ease of movement. Carlisle also offers the option of an ergonomic wooden handle that encases the feed tubes. The Universal Hand Torch can be used with natural gas, propane, or mixed gas and air or oxygen. The torch is available with either a 1/4 Nozzle (1/428M thread) or a 3/8 Nozzle (3/8-32M thread), which are interchangeable. Both can be used with either gas/ oxygen or gas/air. These two nozzles will utilize different carburetors. The 1/4 Nozzle uses the #74 Carburetor and the 3/8 Nozzle uses the #34 Carburetor. The Universal Hand Torch is available in several different packages shown in the chart on the next page. Also available is the Universal Shorty Torch with shorter feed tubes and a shorter non-angled nozzle. It allows for a suitable mount for repetitive bench work. It is commonly used with a gas/air fishtail for lipstick flaming. The Universal Bench Stand is an additional option. This allows the Universal Hand Torch to be set into a clamp that holds the torch by the feed tubes and at an angle so that the Hand Torch may be used as a bench burner. The clamp arm has versatile articulation for effective positioning of the torch. The lightweight Bench Stand should be secured to the bench top.

Carlisle Lightweight Blowpipes are constructed out of brass. They are made up of two feed tubes which enter a built in mixer chamber. From there the gases then exit through a nozzle to the burner tip. Lightweight Blowpipes are very efficient for production use. They do not have any valves attached to them. By eliminating the valves on the torch, the Lightweight Blowpipe becomes easier to handle with less operator fatigue. The Carlisle Lightweight Blowpipes can be used with a mixture of natural gas, propane, or mixed gas and air. The Lightweight Blowpipes built in mixer chamber is specifically sized for a certain range of gas air tips. The charts show the recommended tips for each Blowpipe size. Other tips can be used with the Carlisle Lightweight Blowpipe Series. Please contact your Carlilse Representative to see which Blowpipe and tip combination will work best for your needs.

HIGH-CAPACITY HAND TORCH
The High-Capacity Hand Torch is similar in design to the Universal Hand Torch. However, the High-Capacity Hand Torch is available with only one size of nozzle. The nozzle size is 7/16 with a 7/16-24M thread. This Hand Torch is not compatible with the 3/8 or 1/4 nozzle from the Universal Hand Torch series. The larger nozzle offers a higher flow capacity while also accommodating the correct thread connection size for some of the larger tips offered by Carlisle. The High-Capacity Hand Torch can be used with a mixture of natural gas, propane, or mixed gas and air or oxygen. The High-Capacity Hand Torch is manufactured of brass with chrome plating for the nozzle, feed tubes, and valve body. Red and green anodized aluminum valve handles are standard. GLASSFIRE TIPS
The Glassfire Tips are popular for Neon work. The Carlisle Glassfire Tips are constructed from brass. These tips consist of a single center orifice surrounded by large piloting holes. The Glassfire Tips are used with natural gas or propane and air. There are instances when oxygen is added to the gas/ air mixture to obtain a more focused flame. In these cases, no more than 10% oxygen should be bled into the mix. It is also important to note that the addition of oxygen to these mixtures will cause the burner to degrade at an accelerated rate. Carlisle Glassfire Tips are available either with or without a bendable C Insert. The C Insert allows the normally rigid Glassfire body to become more bendable in order to adjust its angle. Please note that this option will not give as much range of articulation as a ball joint (24A Bulletin) would. With the C Insert option, the available lengths are changed to 2 to 3 1/4. The shorter lengths are incompatible with the C Insert option. HOW TO ORDER

HOSE ASSEMBLIES
When using a Carlisle burner, in any industry, you should be sure that the burner is connected using the correct hosing for the application. Hosing, like all piping systems, must be designed and installed with proper specifications and understanding of the dynamics related to pressure, flow, proper sizing, static pressure losses, temperature, materials, specific gravity of gases for use, and safety issues, among others. Carlisle offers many configurations of Hose Assemblies in both twin and single prefabricated or custom length hoses. The How to Order section referenced in this bulletin illustrates catalog numbers and how to select hoses. Carlisle always recommends the use of threaded connections for our products. Tygon hose is a very flexible light duty hose available with blank ends only. It should always be used with hose clamps and properly sized matching hose adapters. It is manufactured with color-coded tracing for use with natural gas, propane, mixed gases, and oxygen or air. Welding hose (Type T) utilizes threaded connections, however is less flexible than Tygon but capable of handling up to (200psi) pressure. It is available in either cut-to-size or standard lengths with B size welding female swivel connectors (9/16-18), right and left-hand threads. Various male and female pipe adapters are also available. The welding hose is color-coded for use with natural gas, propane, mixed gases, and oxygen or air. Stainless steel braided hose is not as flexible but is extremely durable. It is metal-jacketed, smooth bore, Teflon lined hose capable of withstanding up to (3000psi) for 1/4 diameter hose pressure (450degreeF). Frequently supplied with JIC (37 degree flare) female swivel connectors or adapted to male pipe thread. It can also be used with natural gas, propane, mixed gases, and oxygen or air.

Generally, hose rated for higher pressures are less flexible as the burst pressure increases. All hoses are rated for fuel gases and are UL listed. Many connection types are available depending on the hose type. Blank ends are simply cut-to-size open ends that slip onto hose adapters secured with hose clamps. Male pipe thread connectors are standard NPT thread. Welding hose fittings are available with both left and right-handed thread. The different connection types signify gas or oxygen and prevent crossed connections. JIC fittings are high pressure connections with a metal-to-metal seal. Please feel free to contact your Carlisle Representative with questions or engineering needs. WELDING HOSE GAS CONNECTIONS ARE LEFT-HAND THREADS, OXYGEN ARE RIGHT-HAND THREADS

The EL Gas Savers Series uses solenoid valves in conjunction with a foot pedal to control the flow of gases. When the foot pedal is actuated the solenoid valves go to the on position. The on position will vary depending on the model in question. When the foot pedal is actuated a second time the solenoid valves go to the off position. The EL Gas Saver Series can be used with natural gas, propane, methane, butane, mixed gases, hydrogen, air, or oxygen. The EL Gas Savers are available with one, two, three, or four solenoid valves. By specifying the delay option, the system then will be fitted with a timer that will delay the closing of the gas solenoid valve. This will allow the other valves to shut off before the delayed valve. The air purge option allows one of the solenoid valves to control an air line that will be used only for purging the system. When the Gas Saver is shut off, it will close the other valves and then open the air valve for a predetermined time between one and ten seconds. The EL Gas Saver Series is not to be used with a premix burner without either the delay or purge options. These options allow the Gas Saver to run safely with a premix burner. The EL Gas Savers are also available in the standard 1/4 valve or the Hi-Capacity 1/2 valve. The connections available are hose adapters, welding hose adapters, or JIC adapters.
