Surprisingly there are usually several of these preventable fires in our area every winter. This year the NVWSE has grown to include the Nicola Valley from Dot to Spences Bridge, by including TNRD Area I into the program. And with this last part of the Nicola Valley added to the program, it is now a comprehensive air shed project. The NVWSE is operated by a partnership formed by Min. of Environment, BC Lung Assoc., City of Merritt, TNRD Areas I, M & N, participating First Nations communities and participating retailers, distributors and manufacturers.
