The opening credits use a fade effect with a slight flare in order to portray a mysterious theme towards the

film. Paired with the slightly eerie non diegetic music it builds suspense as to what is about to come in the following scenes. As it builds into a more action based sound track towards the end this is used to emphasise to skewed genre that this film is demonstrating.

The mixture of slowed camera pan, tilt and zoom is initiated in order to give the viewer a clear picture of the surroundings and setting of the scene. This also allows the audience to build an idea of the characters personality before he is even introduced to us. The diegetic sound from the video he is currently watching mixed with the same tense eerie music from the title sequence is then used to parallel with this in building the suspense as to what is to come in the following scenes.

When we are finally introduced to the character is immediately portrayed in a close up shot. This is done to create a certainty among the audience that the film is about him and he is key to what is about to come. Shot from the lower angle his level of importance is enforced. This indirect contact is used to inform an audience that in this piece of cinema the camera is not recognised by the characters. This creates an alternate world viewers can escape into becoming more involved with the film. The shallow focus centres him as the only importance in the scene. The camera then cuts to the computer screen he is looking at giving us the same amount of knowledge to the happenings in the scene as the character. When it cuts to the close up in shallow focus of his hand on the mouse with the over emphasised diegetic sound of its movement the suspense is once again built on tempting the audience into pursuing further into the film. Next the slow close up of all his attention on the computer screen to this plot device builds a key parallel to the title and to what this whole short film is about. However this still does not give a clear picture to what this actually is building the intensity of the suspense that the audience feel

The build in suspense greatens ass the non diegetic music increases its pace as the quick cut editing between the computer screen and the hand on the mouse increases. Once the music has finally reached maximum intensity it simultaneously comes to a sudden stop in time with the final click of the mouse on purchase. This evokes that he has now sealed his fate. Next the ellipsis between the purchase and the time it takes for the parcel to come is short and sudden in order to cut to the key aspect of the film. The free handed long shot of him collecting the parcel is used to emphasise upon the excitement of the delivery to him allowing us to form a higher bond with the character. The use of free hand filming gives the picture a jerky effect which in turn makes the whole scene feel allot more realistic and as if you are actually in the film. This is the uses and gratifications theory of escapism that allows an audience member to escape the troubles of the real world and live in the world of the film. However when the camera cuts to the close up of the now revealed plot device it is fixed and steady. This allows us to focus on and take in its appearance as it is a key prop to be looking out for throughout the entire film. Also by adding a red glow to the button on it this has made the whole device even more mysterious building on an audiences curiosity.

The bright flare has be added in during the editing of the film. This effect has created an effective scene change that allows the audience to understand and differ between the separate genres the character is travelling through. Once the flare has worn off we are now located in a different genre. This is made apparent as although the mise en scene and location have all stayed the same the picture has been edited. It has been given a certain colouring as you would find with an old school romantic film. The medium close up with shallow focus presents us with the binary opposite of modern and old. The modern appearance of the character mixed with the old effect of the film genre. This creates a confusing air among the audience and excitement about what could prevail in this new reality. The camera change then plays by the rule of the invisible line when it changes to the extreme long shot of the bride running towards the camera. This allows the audience to clearly understand the layout of the scene and avoid any confusion possibly created. The calm romantic non diegetic music combined with the slow zoom of her running towards the camera is used to quickly to demonstrate that this is his perspective and the direction of her romance is towards him.

The genre is once again transitioned with the same flare. When he reappears we are now confronted with what is a clear action scene. The fast paced non diegetic music mixed with the change in colouring of the picture clearly define the urgency of the action scene. Combined with the constant fast paced editing it is evoked that our main character is in danger. Finally close up of the character shooting in the police uniform portrays him as a protagonist defending our main character from the danger depicted. After the next genre change we are introduced to a genre very different to those that have come before. The first thing to catch your attention is the sudden change from colour to black and white. The diegetic monologue is another key alternative to this piece. This voice over that the main character can hear divulges an audience even deeper to an impossible reality. This combined with the hyper beautification of the female builds on theory of escapism allowing a viewer to disappear into this impossible world. Within the next genre the non diegetic ominous music mixed with the diegetic grunts of the zombies clearly depicts the zombie horror genre. The medium close up with shallow focus allowing us the blurred view of the zombies is used to demonstrate his apparent unawareness to his current predicament. The quick cut editing and shaky camera movements enforces the genre as the danger is then made apparent.

Within the next genre before any real awareness is made with picture we are introduced with the diegetic conversation of two teenagers over a slow string instrumental piece of non diegetic music. This immediately hints to the audience that this is an indie teenage genre. The medium close up of the two teenagers un aware to any cameras, combined with the shallow focus of the main character in the backing emphasises that he is not to be part of the scene but a spectator like the rest of the audience allows us to be able to relate with the character. Moving into the final genre we are immediately aware of the typical sci-fi genre. The diegetic gun fire and explosions and the non diegetic almost alien music are used to bring excitement to an audience who have been gradually built up to this big finale. The low angle shot of the main character confronted with the computer generated space ship is used to create an iconic alien experience that all sci-fi film watchers would be familiar with. This also tells us the branch of sci-fi we are being introduced to before any characters are even introduced. In his final escape through the plot device the flare is brought on by a sonic explosion that has been added in. This ends the genre with the same action expected due to the rest of the scene. It also clearly defines that this is the end of his travel through genres and that the roller coaster journey we have been taken on through the genres is coming to an end.
