Exciting News From Our Principals

Welcome back from our Mardi Gras festivities and holiday. During the month of March we have many activities occurring on campus. We have several Buddies Breakfast, Character Awards, Picnic with the Principals, and the Easter Hat Parade. Please feel free to join us and share these memories with your children. We highly recommend visiting on March 8th when we have a visit from Harvey the Rabbit. He is a student favorite as well as a teacher favorite. Harvey and his friends focus on character development within a fun, engaging production. The St. Tammany Parish Hornets night will be happening on Saturday, March 24. The opponent will be the San Antonio Spurs. Fliers have gone home and I look forward to seeing everyone at the hive. A super thanks to all who donated to the Jeremy Hebert Defibrillator Fund. A special thanks to the Slidell Evening Lions Club, for their generous donation. Cypress Cove Elementary was the recipient of a defibrillator donated by Northshore High School. We would like to thank Dr. Peterson, NHS Principal, and the NHS staff. Remember to take time to connect with your child every day. They always enjoy cuddling up with a good book. PTA Presidents corner

Hello from the PTA! The 4th Annual CCE 2K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd. It is not too late to participate!! You may register the day of the race beginning at 8am. The race will start at 9am rain or shine followed by many fun-filled activities. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please email me at our PTA address listed below. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Robert Kahrs and Julia Spiess! These students entries from the PTA Reflections Program won at the state level. We are so proud of our students! (Parents, you should be receiving more information concerning this award in the mail.) Within the PTA, we are always planning ahead. We watch the students grow and learn each and every day. As the students come to the end of first grade, they are preparing to move on to their next school. As these students move on, so do their parents. It is a continuous cycle, just like our PTA board. Our members can only stay for so long until they have to move on as their children do. We have many members who will be moving on to Honey Island next year, which in turn leaves board positions available. If you have any interest in being a part of the PTA board for the 2012- 2013 school year, please email me at our PTA address. I would be happy to let you know what is available for the upcoming year. Our next PTA meeting is March 13th at 10am in room 701. Come find out what we are all about. We would love to see you there! See you at school!
