Mrs. Smiths Scoop Welcome to 2014! I hope you are looking forward to the New Year. Thank you PTA Members and Parent Volunteers for the time and energy you spent during the month of December working in classrooms, serving in the Honey Hive, and helping with holiday festivities, especially the Faculty and Staff Dessert Party. Your volunteer hours and commitment are commendable. The Honey Island Hive will be buzzin during the months of January and February. Welcome to 2014 and the second half of our school year! I hope each Honey Island family had a great holiday break! Teachers and students alike are ready to get back in the swing of learning! We are all looking forward to a successful winter and spring this semester! In early January, we will celebrate FISH Week, where students will review our school-wide expectations, our CHAMPS rules, and our monthly behavior goals. You can help at home by having conversations with your children about character traits that will help them to grow into successful adults. Our expectations will guide students to making successful choices, so it will be helpful to talk about them with your children as well as model the expectations for them. These expectations include being there, making someones day, choosing your attitude, and having fun! On January 10th, we will have our second AR Reading Recess Reward for those students reaching their second quarter reading goals. We are proud of our students success in reading and all the other subjects as well. Keep up the great work! Mrs. Troyer
