Andy Harris had taken thousands in campaign contributions from the worst polluters and has consistently voted against increasing penalties when they pollute. John LaFerla will crack down these polluters to stop pollution that harms our Bay. Andy Harris voted against Marylands Chesapeake Bay Watershed Restoration Program. John LaFerla will work to protect the Bay including working with local agriculture to reduce runoff that harms the Bay. Andy Harris has consistently supported weakening the EPA. John LaFerla supports giving the EPA the tools they need to protect the Bay.

For a Better Economy

Andy Harris voted against cutting payroll taxes for middle class families. John LaFerla supports a long-term payroll tax cut to give families extra money in their paycheck and to create jobs. Andy Harris supports a radical national sales tax that would harm small businesses and raise taxes for most families. John LaFerla suppots reforming our tax code to make it fairer and more stable while lowering the tax burden on the middle class families. Andy Harris supports tax breaks that ship our jobs overseas. John LaFerla will work to stop rewarding companies that ship jobs overseas by ending the tax break for outsourcing.

Protecting Social Security & Medicare

Andy Harris voted to end Medicare. John LaFerla will oppose efforts to weaken Medicare. He understands we need to keep our promise to our seniors. Andy Harris has received over $1 million in support from extremist groups that want to privatize social security. John LaFerla strongly opposes all efforts to privatize social security. He also opposes cutting benefits or raising the retirement age.
