Linemen are in a 3 point stance Inside hand down, Inside foot slightly back Feet no wider than shoulder width apart Very little weight on down hand Eyes up Linemen are back off the ball with their down hand even with the centers heels Splits between C and G are 2 feet, G and T 2 feet, T and TE 3-4 feet
The personnel
CENTER
He needs to be BIG strong is good, but BIG is important He cant be blown back. He needs to be dependable because everything starts with a good snap He doesnt have to be a great athlete and he doesnt have to be especially mobile
GUARDS
They need to be good athletes and they must want to hit people They must be able to hit a moving target
TACKLES
It doesnt hurt if they are big, but. They dont have to be especially good athletes They do need to be able to gap block
TIGHT END
Speed is helpful Good hands to catch passes Must be able to gap block
4 BACK
The workhorse of the wing-t Must be a good runner Must have good hands for flat routes
QB
The better the athlete he is, the better your offense will be Do not give the job to the kid with the best arm.only if he is a leader The kid that is not a great athlete can still win for yousmart, tough, dependable, unselfish
SPLIT END
Speed is essential Route running must be precise Great hands Good blocking ability
1st part will be the formation and any motion 2nd part will be the play
Ball can be snapped on: GO If no shifting or motion R of Ready If no motion 1st Hut during any motion
Who gets the ball Where the ball carrier runs to (point of attack) And the type of blocking we will use
