Last night was the first time the Rainiers began aseason facing a team other than Sacramento or Colorado Springs since 2005, and was club’s firstseason opener against Salt Lake since their 2000 campaign. Tacoma is 4-9 in season openerssince the club’s last season-opening meeting with the Bees.
Daren Brown
returns for his 12thseason in the Mariners organization and his sixth as the skipper for the Rainiers. He has amassed a864-766 (.530) mark over his 14-year managerial career, and a 353-349 (.503) record as themanager at Tacoma. Brown currently ranks third on Tacoma’s all-time managerial wins list, and isnow 23 wins shy of eclipsing Dan Rohn as the winningest manager in franchise history.** The entire Rainiers team will be wearing a patch (shown right) on the rightsleeves on their uniforms this season in memory of
