Town of Canaan GOP Endorses McDonald

Canaan The Town of Canaan Republican Committee endorsed Roy McDonald in his bid to represent the newly created 43rd Senate District, which includes all of Columbia County along with parts of Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington Counties. The endorsement, the second in Columbia County for McDonald, follows the Columbia County Conservative Committee endorsement of McDonald last week. Chairwoman Martha Lagerwall described the decision to endorse McDonald, stating the Senator was the clear choice because of his record of eliminating taxes in his hometown of Wilton, his direct involvement in the creation of thousands of private sector jobs by successfully luring dozens of new companies to the Capital District and his experience as a legislator finding practical solutions that will work to serve the interests of Columbia County and the Town of Canaan. Although he hasnt represented us, weve followed Senator McDonalds story and appreciated his record along with what hes done in office, Chairwoman Lagerwall continued, Ive personally hoped we might someday be represented by Senator McDonald and now we have the chance to see up close how he helps the communities he represents. Ive worked on economic development for many years in Columbia County and look forward to bringing Senator McDonalds experience in creating jobs to our area and working with him on job creation, said Committeeperson David Pearce. I want to thank the Canaan GOP for their support and let them know that I will continue working hard on the issues they have discussed with me, specifically

creating or keeping jobs local, mandate relief, and lowering taxes. Its time we work together to turn the wonderful resources of Columbia County into a successful economic engine in the Capital Region, said McDonald.
