    What is the Great Brookland Yard Sale? The Great Brookland Yard Sale (GBYS), now in its fifth year, is an opportunity for Brooklanders to host yard sales all at the same time, drawing shoppers from across the city. When is it? Its scheduled for Saturday, May 12, from 10am to 2:00pm. (individual yard sale times can vary, of course). If it rains, then Sunday. How do I participate in the GBYS? Just have a yard sale on May 12th! Better yetbe included on the official map (optional). Sign up at www.brooklandcivic. org/gbys-2012 with your name/address/sale-times. You can also provide a list of specific items and pictures to draw people to your sale! Hows it being marketed? Will people show up? This is a volunteer event; much will be done via the Brookland Neighborhood Civic Association (event coordinators this year), local blogs, the Brookland Listserv, and other outlets. Please share information about the GBYS with your neighbors, other listservs, your place of worship, your office, etc. Get the word out! Can I help? Yes! We heart volunteers. Vist our website.
