Our Crew
Our staff is carefully selected and screened through interviews, background checks, and FDLE Criminal History reports. The staff is preferred to have a high school diploma or GED and experience working with children. Training is provided in first aid, discipline, recreational games and sports, and behavior management.

Lift anchor and set sail with our 2012 Summer Camp program. Campers will experience fun activities including: games, sports, arts and crafts, field trips, movies, guest speakers, special events, and much more!

Lunch & Snack
A free lunch and snack will be available at certain locations which qualify for the Summer Food Program. Eligibility will be determined by the Florida Department of Education. For sites not qualifying for the Summer Food Program, participants will need to bring a lunch and snack.

COUNSELOR I N T R A I N I N G PROGRAM (First mate)


Young adults, age 14-17, may be eligible to participate in our volunteer Counselor in Training (CIT) Program. This program provides teens with the opportunity to gain experience working with children in a recreational setting. Selected CIT's will participate in the planning and operation of camp, assist with maintenance, and be a role model and friend to younger campers. CIT's will receive training and performance evaluations to help develop the social, mental, and physical skills needed for future employment. CIT application packets are available at Pasco County Recreation Complexes as well as online. Applications must be turned in by Friday, May 291h2012. Positions are limited. Birth certificate for proof of age is required. Selection will be based on previous experience in recreation and with children, school grades, extracurricular involvement, reference letters from adults, and a personal interview. Please note that CIT positions may be terminated at any time at the discretion of management.

Register children at the site they plan to attend. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. The first day of registration is for Pasco County residents ONLY. Registration lines may be long; your patience is most appreciated. WHAT TO BRING TO REGISTRATION: Proof of Pasco County residency, i.e. voter I.D., utility bill, lease, etc. Driver's license or picture I.D. Emergency phone numbers and medical insurance information. Cash or checks made payable to Board of County Commlssloners. Check writer must provide driver's license and employment information. Birth certificate and proof of kindergarten completion. Camp is for ages 5 - 13 years old. Note: Starkey Nature Camp is for ages 7 - 13.

Camp is 7:30am - 5:30pm unless designated otherwise.
It is very important to pick up your child on time. A late fee will be accessed and must be paid prior to your child being admitted back into camp. J. PAYMENT OPTIONS: Full payment for all seven weeks at registrationspot is guaranteed for entire program. Full payment for specif7 weeks at registration- spot is guaranteed for those specific weeks. Partial payment for all seven weeks -three weeks due at time of registration with balance due on or before Friday, June 29' 2012. Child will be removed from the final four weeks of camp and placed at the bottom of the waiting list if final payment is not made by June 29th. Weekly payment - first week must be paid at registration. Subsequent weeks can be paid for once camp begins IF space is available. TO PARTICIPATE, A CHILD MUST: Be able to use the restroom without assistance. Be able to handle a 20:l camper to counselor ratio. Be able to follow directions and perform routine daily tasks without one-on-one guidance.
