Blindfolded Treasure Hunt SAINT JOSEPHS COLLEGE LESSON PLAN Unit: Personal and Social Skills Targeted Learning

Results: Cooperative Skills Age/grade level: 8th Grade Length of period: 40 minutes Number of students: 20+ Equipment needed: All the balls in the class, and one golf ball Class Objectives: the student will demonstrate cooperative and inclusive skills while participating in physical activities. Time 5 mins 10 mins Activity Description Warm-Up: Run 2 laps and stretch accordingly Explain to students that they are going be paired up randomly, one student will be blindfolded. The other student needs to guide their partner to the golf ball without physical contact. Students place blindfolds on and begin to try and find the golf ball. If this is too hard, use more golf balls, or a bigger ball like a basketball to search for. Once completed, have partners switch. Conclusion/ Assessment: Ask students what they learned about teamwork and how they managed their conflicts. What were some challenges you found when your partner was communicating with you?
