Contact: Vincent Torres (505) 476-2250 vincent.torres@state.nm.us FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 7, 2012 LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR SANCHEZ TO KEYNOTE FOUR CORNERS OIL & GAS CONFERENCE IN FARMINGTON FARMINGTON Lieutenant Governor John Sanchez will be in Farmington on Wednesday, May 9 to deliver a keynote address at the 2012 Biennial Four Corners Oil and Gas Conference. This years conference will feature presentations by industry and regulatory professionals on new technology, safety, and current regulatory compliance. More than 2,500 people are expected to attend. According to Karen Ortega, Chairman of the Four Corners Oil and Gas Committee, the Four Corners Oil and Gas Conference will provide information on new technology and changing regulations that affect the oil and gas industry. The Four Corners area, comprised of Northwestern New Mexico, Southwestern Colorado, Northeastern Arizona, and Southeastern Utah, contains the San Juan Basin one of the most prolific natural gas deposits in the United States. This area alone has produced more than 370 million barrels of oil and nearly 38 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and contributes more than eight percent of the countrys natural gas supply. The conference will be held at McGee Park and Coliseum.
