THESIS PROPOSAL

Title: Comparative study between Normal RCC frame structure and prestressed Frame structure. Introduction: Generally the buildings are made of RCC with simple RCC slabs, Beams and columns. But if we apply prestress force in these elements we can reduce the size of the elements(Direct Cost), also if we precast it and prestress it, it will save a lot of time in construction (Indirect cost). Need of Study: The Choice of construction between Normal RCC frame structure and prestressed Frame structure depends upon variety of Parameters Construction cost Speed of construction and constructability Design complexity Size of members

Scope of Work: To analyse and design Normal RCC building To analyse and design the same Building with Prestressed concrete design. To workout the site execution of precast prestressed elements. Methods of in-situ casting of these prestressed elements. Comparative Study parameters Ease of Construction. Cost Sizes of member Time of Construction

THESIS PROPOSAL
Working Methodology: Literature Review Analysis, Design and estimate of normal RCC structures. Study of Prestress Terminology, Loading and Losses. Understanding the design procedure for Prestressed Building elements To analyse and design of Prestressed Building elements Prepare Estimate of prestressed building. Comparison of Prestressed and Normal RCC building with parameters : Cost Sizes of member Ease of construction

Conclusion: From the study of the above said topic, we can conclude (1) The variation in behaviour of the two structures and different stresses in elements, their behaviour and forces. (2) To find the difference in Cost of Construction of both the type of structures. (3) To find different execution techniques for placing precast prestressed elements.
