Shepherds Bible Rev CHAPTER 17

1. A nd there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, a nd talked with me, saying
unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judg- ment of the great whore that sitteth upo n many
waters:

# The great whore is a symbol for the worship of another god through confusion. If we equate waters
to people, then we could say that confusion has been set down on the people.

2. W ith whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, a nd the inhabitants of the earth
have been made drunk with the wine of her forni-cation.

# Strong’s Concordance shows that the word fornication, as used here, is synonymous with idolatry
or whoredom By her fornication or lies, she brings us to Babylon.

3. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet
colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

# Revelation 13:1 talks about this beast. It is a governmental beast or a political system.

4. A nd the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones
and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

# We see that this system accumulates great material wealth. Yet, in her cup is the filthiness of her
decep-tion.

5. And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE
MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

# Imbedded in the mind of this wicked system we see the antithesis of all we hold dear as children of
the light. For, in her mind is the word mystery. Yet, there is no mystery for us. Matthew 13:11 tells
us it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
Then, we see within her the name, Babylon the Great, or Great Confusion. I Corinthians 14:33
shows us that our God is not the author of confus ion. In James 3 confusion is contrasted to the
wisdom that is from above, which, among other things, is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of good
fruits. In-terwoven within her system is, The Mother of Harlots and Abo minations of the Earth. She
is a parent to the evil offspring of idolatry. Her teachers and prophets become the es-teemed among
men. Luke l6:15 says, for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of
God. Out of the terror and confu-sion which she would foist upo n us, there stands a verse of
promise, a torch burning brilliantly in the dark-ness which reads, “For unto us a Child is born,
unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoul-der: and His name shall he
called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The prince of Peace. (Isaiah
9:6).

6. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of
Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

# Admiration here should be wonder #2295, but used by implication ab-stractly. Rotherham reads,
with great astonishment. We are astonished when we see this woman (confusion), who is made up in
part by our own peop- le, implementing t he martyr of saints through their ignorance of Yahveh’s
plan.
7. And the angel said unto me, Where fore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the
woman, a nd o f the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into
perdi-tion: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonde r, whos e names were not written in the book
of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

#Here is Lucifer’s counterfeit for the statement that Jesus made; I am he that liveth, and was dead;
and be- hold, I am alive for evermore. Lucifer was in the garde n, he is not, because he is in heaven
until- such time as he will be cast to the earth, and yet is when he ascends out of the bottomless pit
(Rev. 12:9).

9. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the
woman sitteth.

# When ever He says the mind that hath wisdom, He is referring to the elect. Pay special attention to
what He has to say. The seven mountains, in Greek mean seven nations. Seven dominions would be
even a better translation. The world will be divided up into seven dominions, or seven specific
geographical areas.

10. A nd there are seve n kings: five are fallen, a nd o ne is, and the other is not yet come; and when he
cometh, he must continue a short space.

# This was and is Satan’s power struc-ture from beginning to end. Verse 8 proves that Satan will be
the eighth king and will reign in person.

11. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into
perdition.

# The word perdition (684) in Greek means ruin, loss, destruction, (wheth-er physical, spiritual or
eternal). It has the same root (622) as the word Apollyon (623), which is Satan. We know the beast
in this verse is Luci- fer. In Greek it is therion, meaning venomous, ide ntifying Lucifer. Jesus gave
further witness as to what will happe n to the son of pe rdition in John 17 :12. The whole 17 th chapter
of John has a beautiful message. It is His intercessory prayer for those whom God has given Him.

12. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have re-ceived no kingdom as yet; but
receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

# Revelation 13:1 refers to these same ten kings that shall be the ten men who will take hold and rule
when the beast’s political system is set up. We will know it as one-worldism. They will be rulers out
of the seven do min- ions to control and rule the world under the author ity of Lucifer, whom the world
will think is Jesus Christ. This is the deception. This is the abomination. She is a harlot and those in
her bed will he wed to the wrong messiah before the true Messiah re-turns. The elect are the bride of
the Lamb and wait for that marriage to Christ.

13. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of
lords, and sing of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faith- ful.
# Notice, he says the elect are called and chosen and faithful. He does the calling. You can go out
into the world and tell people the truth, but they do n’t hear, be cause they ha ven’t been called.
Yahveh must call them.

15. And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and
multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

# The deception of this false christ rests upon all nations. The word is ethnos, which incorporates all
races.

16. A nd the ten hor ns which thou sawest upo n the beast, these shall hate the whore, a nd shall make
her desolate and naked, a nd shall eat her flesh, a nd b urn her with fire.

# The word hate in Greek means to persecute. The ten rulers shall persecute the ones upon whom the
whore sits.

17. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill His will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the
beast, until the Words of God shall be ful- filled.

#Note the strength of these two verses. These ten men are not evil on their own; it is part of Gods
plan. He chose these men just as He chose you, to fulfill His plan for the earth. Remember, Jesus
said that only Lucifer would be locked in perdition. A read-ing of Romans 9:21 will be enlightening
in regard to this.

18. A nd the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

# The great city is Babylon, or state of confus ion. The whole wor ld is watch- ing and waiting for the
return of the Kenite Messiah. They are being taught to bow down and worship him when he comes,
for they will think he is Christ. You, who s tudy, will know from the scriptures that the true Messiah
will come later.
