Question 9

the questionnaire lacks grey area.yes or no values dont give true picture/reply.at least there should be 5 values to choose fr6.
In current Ethiopia, the situation is getting worst, even i can say that this time is the climax in terms of the suppression of freedom and democracy due to
the harsh measure going on by government forces on peaceful protesters, religious organization, civic society organization, Academic and intellectual
arena, private and free media, etc. moreover, the government in collaboration with the local leaders and its affiliates has forced the ousting and cleansing of
the ethnic society, Amhara ethnic societies were displaced from north Ethiopia without any tangible legal background, Many people in Gambella and its
surrounding have been forced to leave their place and their lands are given to China, Indian, Saudi Arabia, and some local investors of the EPDRF
supporter. The land garbing in the name of poverty reduction, which is actually targeted to benefit the investors, not the society at large, is continuously
covering the whole country's fertile land for miniature amount of money, and the negotiation terms are really favoring the investors but affecting the country
and the people even in short term.

I felt as if you set up the questions to get the No answer. I wish it is more specific otherwise even America won't get many yes's. I answers yes for question
no 5. My paradox is, if they are doing what the law (their law) says, will they be condemned to implement it.
In this moment, there is comprative democracy to manage the society who are in trnasformation period from illitracy to litracy. For Africa and for nations
whose society has got different religious and social ideology, our country's democracy is an option to keep the peace of the country.
it would be better if you could make the question more provocative.
Is this a joke? Superficial questions and untimely!
G-8 leaders will regret in the future when they realize that they were financing and fully supporting a very deceptive and evil-minded fascist person by the
name in Ethiopia.
This group will not go with out power.
There was'nt democracy in ethiopia and there is no sign of democracy under TPLF either. The shame thing is, the minority government of tplf is hanging on
the power by western support(the so called interest). exactly this is dangerous even for future of that country
I appreciate your effort but i am afraid that your findings will not be of any more value than what is on the ground already. In present day Ethiopia, there is
no sign of :freedom, rule of law, democracy, free election, free press, individual/group right, equality before the law... you name it.
There is no democracy, free press, human right freedom of speech at all in our mother land Ethiopia. This government stand for only one tribe specially for
TPLF/WOYANE the rest of the ppl.are hostage.
no
It is very obvious that there is no democracy in Ethiopia. Look at the number of people in the different jails, look at the atmosphere in which people in even
to express their ideas in front of other they will think twice or make sure that there is no other strange person around them. We can also look at how the
government decide for your future, like they will allow for cretin people to run a business, or even build a house where as many of us are not allowed even
to change the single roof of our house with out letting know the government officials. Where I live in Kenya this is not the case we have huge difference and
I am very jealous to see how people express their ideas, oppose the government, demonstrate to ask for their right whenever they want to.In short they
exercise their democratic right. That is not the case in Ethiopia. TELLING THE TRUTH MAKES YOU PAY.EVEN IT CAN COST YOU YOUR
LIFE..WHAT A COUNTRY REALLY??????
atasequne
This is, WADR, the stupidest questionnaire that I've ever filled. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
even if i am not living in Ethiopia from what i read from different sites & discussion with friends i can definately say that there is light of dimocrassy in
Ethiopia. It is true that we are not excersing dimocrassy like US or Europe but we still have the chance to reach where they are now.our main problem is we
don't have organized party who can work to bring about change in Ethiopia.I feel that most of the political parties are running after thier own interest.they
have to take responsibilyt and develope trust with their supporter in particular and the public in general.to bring a change in a country it is not only the
responsibility of one political party or other it is the responsibilty of each and every indivisual.lets change our perception of democraccy and teach others
as well sooner or later we will bring the change what we want. I would like to thank you for your effort. All the best
aslongas tplf in power ethiopia is alwyas indanger.wemust get together togetridof this regime.
Please change the word AYE, Amharic language has an exact word for "NO" which is Aydelem instead of "Aye" that is an appropriate to use it on media.
I don't have anything for your effort except praise. NO ONE to my knowledge has attempted to get SOME evidence based conclusions (even relational
ones.)AND the sample should be representative of EVERY Ethiopian. It all begins in the family! The country can not be any different. Where in Ethiopia can
one see a resemblance of democratic life, where every member is respected and heard and decisions are made as appropriate with a say from each
participant? Not many to matter. The highland Ethiopia's (this is the only culture I know something about, but most Ethiopians elites come from these
cultures) belief system (culture) favors "obedience to authority" be it religious or secular or even age related. In order to create docile, tamed, and scared
subjects a conditioning method with strong negative reinforcement were/are implemented. So there you have it... a silent majority, made deliberately
ignorant of what is important for a life of freedom. Go to Ethiopian highlands and observe. You will find ample evidence of this everywhere. For this reason I
do not have high hopes for democracy from the "opposition" either. They are the product of the same culture and will be doing structurally similar things to

the present regime in may be a different context. The signs of such behaviors are rampant among many who identify themselves as "opposition".
Intolerance towards diversity of (opinions, ethnicity, culture, etc.), prejudice, sheer lack of understanding about the basics of democracy, arrogance, herd
mentality, etc... I am certainly skeptical that there will be any group/s of Ethiopians (there may be some individuals who could but unfortunately this is a
collective undertaking) who will present a UNITED front and dedicate themselves to "democracy" and work for a country where human rights are respected,
there are rule of law, freedoms of expression, gathering, worship, property ownership, equal treatment before the law, etc. I hope, however, whoever comes
next will advance the country in the right direction. My hopes are high on the younger generation...at least they have the passion and determination albeit
without the necessary wisdom to translate their dreams in to reality. I can go on... but I feel I am doing exactly what I profess to hate doing with all my
bones, "complain".
Supermacy of law? Which law? One that is made based on a single persons will regardless of the people, metsdequ qerto beqtu bekonenegn alu bakachihu
