peripheral nerve
 
Peripheral nerves include: cranialnerves, spinal nerves.
It is made up of bundle of nervefibers, both myelinated andunmyelinated.
On naked eye examination, itappears whitish and glisteningbecause of their myelin andcollagen content.
Examples
: median nerve, ulnarnerve, sciatic nerve

Epineurium
: it is sheath of denseirregular C.T. around peripheralnerve.
Perineuriun
:
 –
it is C.T sheath around each fascicleor bundle of nerve fibers.
 –
This is made by many concentriclayers of epitheloid cells joinedtogether by tight junctions .
 –
Perineurium acts as a barrier to thepassage of materials.
endoneurium
: it is thin layer of C.T. around each nerve fiber. It iscomposed of delicate collagenousand reticular fibers andfibroblasts.
